Domestic coffee prices today
Domestic coffee prices in the Central Highlands region today, August 16, 2025, continued to rise to unprecedented record levels, fluctuating between 114,000 and 115,000 VND/kg.
Accordingly, traders in the former Dak Nong region are buying coffee at the highest price of 115,000 VND/kg, a record increase of 3,400 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Similarly, the price of coffee in Dak Lak province is 114,800 VND/kg, an increase of 3,300 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Coffee prices in Gia Lai province increased by 3400 VND/kg compared to yesterday and are trading at 114,600 VND/kg.
In Lam Dong province, the price of coffee increased by 3000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, reaching 114,000 VND/kg.

Domestic coffee prices continue to climb to new record highs due to limited supply, unfavorable weather conditions, and strong global demand. Many experts predict this upward trend could last at least until the third quarter of 2025, depending on the recovery of production in Vietnam and Brazil.
At current prices, some dealers who bought at over 130,000 VND/kg are hoping to recoup their investment, while farmers say prices are now comparable to those at harvest time.
According to the Vietnam Commodity Exchange (MXV), domestic inventory levels are currently very low, making it difficult for businesses to gather goods in accordance with signed contracts.
In the context of facing numerous trade barriers and tariffs, the coffee industry is under both pressure and presented with opportunities. Businesses need to be proactive and flexible in production and business to take advantage of favorable times and boost exports to potential markets.
World coffee prices today
On the London exchange, online robusta coffee futures contracts for September 2025 delivery closed the trading session on August 15th at $4174 per ton, a sharp increase of 2.2% ($90 per ton) compared to the previous trading session. However, the November 2025 contract rose 2.61% ($103 per ton), to $4055 per ton.
On the New York Stock Exchange, the price of Arabica coffee for September 2025 delivery rose sharply by 2.77% (9.05 US cents/pound), to 335.55 US cents/pound. The December 2025 contract increased by 2.68% (9.1 US cents/pound), to 327.8 US cents/pound.
Coffee prices continue to rise sharply, reaching their highest levels in months and higher than the same period last year. This is due not only to seasonal factors but also to global supply and demand pressures. Supply is severely lacking as coffee inventories in Vietnam have fallen to their lowest levels in years.
Adverse weather conditions are a major factor driving up coffee prices. Drought, heatwaves, and pest infestations are expected to reduce Vietnam's Robusta production by 20%. In Brazil, unseasonal rains and frost are also affecting Arabica growing regions. These concerns are prompting importers to increase early purchases to mitigate risks.
Increased shipping costs due to tensions in the Red Sea, along with the EU's anti-deforestation regulations (EUDR), have made production more expensive. Meanwhile, demand from the EU, the US, and Japan remains high, especially given the competitive pricing of Vietnamese coffee. Exchange rates and global inflation also contribute to keeping prices high.
Coffee prices are projected to continue rising until Q3 2025 due to limited supply and speculative factors. However, if production in Brazil and Vietnam recovers strongly by the end of 2025, prices could fall by 20-30% compared to current levels.
