An Giang students will return to school on August 22
The first day of school for An Giang students takes place about 10 days before the opening ceremony. This creates conditions for schools to prepare for the new school year and helps students feel comfortable and avoid pressure.
School start and opening time
An Giang Provincial People's Committee has just issued Decision 600/QD-UBND stipulating the time frame for the 2025-2026 school year for all levels of education, from preschool to high school.
According to Decision 600/QD-UBND, students at all levels from preschool, primary, secondary, high school and continuing education will return to school on August 29, 2025.
Students in grades 1, 9 and 12 will return to school earlier, from August 22, 2025. The new school year opening date is unified across the province on September 5, 2025.

Study time and Tet holiday
Semester I: starts from September 8, 2025 to January 10, 2026, including 18 weeks of actual study.
Semester II: takes place from January 12, 2026 to May 23, 2026, including 17 weeks of actual study, including 2 weeks of Lunar New Year holiday.
The total number of actual study weeks in a year is 35 weeks.
Complete the program and end the school year before May 31, 2026.
Consider recognition of completion of primary school program, graduation from secondary school before June 30, 2026.
Complete enrollment for grades 6 and 10 for the 2026-2027 school year before July 31, 2026.
High school graduation exams and national excellent student exams are held according to the schedule of the Ministry of Education and Training.
Holidays and Tet holidays are implemented according to the provisions of the Labor Code and annual guidelines. Teachers' annual leave is taken during the summer vacation or can be arranged alternately at other times of the year to suit the specific situation and school year schedule of An Giang province.
During the implementation process, the Department of Education and Training will advise the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to decide on school breaks and extend the school year in special cases; Decide on allowing students to take time off in case of extreme weather, natural disasters and arrange make-up classes; Announce exam schedules, provide instructions on provincial exams and competitions.
