The "4 on-site" force in the border commune of Muong Tip (Nghe An) worked all night to mobilize and evacuate people to storm shelters.

Assessing the area as potentially dangerous when the storm makes landfall, the "4 on-site" force in Muong Tip commune (Nghe An) went to each house to encourage and help people evacuate to safety before storm No. 5.

On the night of August 24, Muong Tip commune evacuated 17 households, with a total of 78 people from Na Mi village to temporary accommodation in houses of people in neighboring villages and households that are relatives of families with safer accommodation. Photo: PV

It is expected that tomorrow (August 25), the commune will continue to evacuate households to locations including: Ta Do Border Control Station; headquarters, cultural houses, schools and to households on higher ground that are less affected. In particular, households in Xop Phe and Huoi Khoi villages and households near the old Muong Tip Commune People's Committee will be relocated to the old Muong Tip Commune People's Committee headquarters and the Cha Lap Village Cultural House. All work to stabilize accommodation and shelter for people in Muong Tip commune will be completed on August 25 before the forecasted storm makes landfall. Photo: PV
