Suspect arrested for robbery at jewelry center.

After only 15 hours of investigation, at 11:00 AM today, August 27th, Da Nang City Police arrested Dale James (born in 1996, US citizen), the suspect in the audacious robbery at the PNJ jewelry center on Nui Thanh Street, Hoa Cuong Ward, on the evening of August 26th.

According to initial information, Dale James entered Vietnam in early June 2025 and rented an apartment on Pham Tu Street, An Hai Ward, Da Nang City. Before committing the crime, the suspect rented a motorbike and removed the license plate to use as transportation.

After committing the robbery, the suspect left the scene and traveled through several streets before returning to his rented room. There, he hid the stolen goods and waited to see what would happen. When the police arrived, the suspect attempted to escape but was apprehended.arrest.

As reported by CAND newspaper, at 5:50 PM on August 26th, a daring robbery occurred at the PNJ jewelry center (455 Nui Thanh Street, Hoa Cuong Ward, Da Nang City). The perpetrator, a young man dressed as a Grab driver, attacked the security guard, then entered the store, smashed the glass display cases, stole numerous pieces of jewelry, and fled.

Fearing the suspect might be armed, some witnesses hesitated to apprehend him aggressively. As a result, the suspect ran a short distance before escaping into the crowded streets of Nui Thanh.

Upon receiving the report, the Criminal Investigation Department of the Da Nang Public Security immediately mobilized forces to investigate and arrest the suspect.
