The day before National Day, in Thai villages, people woke up early. Everyone together swept and cleaned the village streets and prepared for cultural and sports activities. After the village's common work, everyone in the family returned home, gathered together; cleaned the house, carefully and cleanly arranged the altar and Uncle Ho's picture; prepared the ancestral offerings to put on the altar.

Mr. Le Quoc Bao, 65 years old, in Nat Duoi village, Hung Chan commune shared: "For the past 30 years, every year his family has celebrated Independence Day to show gratitude to the Party and Uncle Ho. On Independence Day, everyone in the family gathers together to celebrate Tet. Although the economy is still difficult, the family always tries to prepare a decent feast."

On Independence Day, Thai families in Hung Chan commune prepare a meal with traditional dishes to offer to their ancestors. The main dishes are made from chicken, duck, buffalo, and beef. In particular, many families also organize the making of typical cakes of their ethnic group such as buffalo horn cakes, square cakes, and round cakes... After offering to their ancestors, these cakes are served as gifts to guests.

After carefully preparing traditional dishes and cakes, the host makes offerings to the ancestors, inviting them to celebrate Independence Day and share the joy with their descendants. Next, they clean the dishes to invite relatives, children and grandchildren in the house and entertain guests.

Mr. Truong Van Phuong - village elder of Chao village confided: "In the past, people in our village did not have enough food to eat, enough clothes to wear, and were poor all year round. Now it is different, in the village, families have enough food, enough clothes, electricity to watch TV, and children go to school at the right age. We have today thanks to the Party and Uncle Ho. Independence Day is also a thanksgiving to the Party and Uncle Ho."

Hung Chan commune still has many poor households, but in general, people's lives are now stable. The villagers always believe that under the leadership of the Party and the State, life will get better and better.

In fact, in the Thai villages in Hung Chan commune, Independence Day began on the evening of September 1 and lasted until noon on September 2. To celebrate Independence Day, the villagers organized meals and performances such as singing Nhuon, Suoi, and Giao Duyen.

Mr. Vi Van Mai - an artist of singing nhuon, brook, playing khen be, bi in Nat Duoi village said: Independence Day is also an opportunity for us, the elderly, to propagate and educate the young generation about the traditional cultural values ​​of the Thai people. Thanks to these occasions, the young generation loves and appreciates the traditions of the nation and homeland even more...

In previous years, on National Day, no one in the villages of Hung Chan commune went to the fields. Everyone gathered under the ancient fig trees in the village. Here, the elders told their children and grandchildren about the historical days of the country, the village, and their homeland; and advised their children and grandchildren to study hard and make progress.

At exactly 7am, everyone in the village gathered at the village's community cultural house to listen to the village elder, party cell secretary, and village chief report on the local development situation, exchange good wishes, then organize a celebration and traditional games such as throwing con, walking on stilts, and bamboo dancing...

This year, the 80th anniversary of National Day, is different, Ms. Ly Thi Hoi, Ban Nat Duoi shared: After the flag-raising ceremony at the community cultural house at 6 o'clock, we returned home, turned on the TV to watch the National Day Celebration, parade, and march on September 2. The ceremony was very solemn, majestic, yet intimate and touching. We are extremely proud and grateful to the heroes, martyrs, wounded soldiers who sacrificed themselves for the cause of national liberation, construction and protection. After watchingNational Day celebrations, parades, and marchesOn September 2, the Thai people in Hung Chan celebrated another important holiday. This year's Independence Day feast was more complete than before, as each person and each household received a gift from the State, with a gift value of 100,000 VND/person.

On this Independence Day, people advise each other not to get drunk, especially not to drive after drinking alcohol or beer. After celebrating Independence Day, we must immediately start production, taking care of crops and livestock...

Independence Day is truly meaningful to the Thai people. Through the celebration of Independence Day, the young generation has been educated about the traditions of their homeland and country.

In the coming time, Hung Chan commune will continue to promote propaganda work in organizing local holidays and Tet so that each person has a deeper understanding of history, cultural identity, tradition, morality of drinking water and remembering its source, and the spirit of solidarity.
