Solemnly held a parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2

On the morning of September 2, at the historic Ba Dinh Square (Hanoi), the Party Central Committee, the National Assembly, the President, the Government, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Hanoi People's Committee solemnly held a military parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on September 2.

Attending the ceremony were comrades: To Lam - General Secretary; Luong Cuong - President; Tran Thanh Man - Chairman of the National Assembly, Pham Minh Chinh - Prime Minister; comrades Politburo members, former Politburo members, Standing members of the Secretariat, former Standing members of the Secretariat; leaders, former leaders of the Party, State, and Vietnam Fatherland Front.

Also attending the ceremony were members of the Party Central Committee, former members of the Party Central Committee; comrades: Vice President, former Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, former Deputy Prime Minister, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, former Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, members of the Central Steering Committee to celebrate major holidays and important historical events in 2025; leaders of central departments, ministries, branches, mass organizations and leaders of provinces and centrally run cities; revolutionary veterans, heroic Vietnamese mothers, heroes of the People's Armed Forces, heroes of labor, generals in the people's armed forces; representatives of soldiers, veterans, former people's police, former youth volunteers, former frontline workers, representatives of families of war invalids, martyrs, families with meritorious services to the country.

Attending the ceremony were high-ranking international delegations from various countries; political parties, international organizations, ambassadors, heads of representative agencies, defense attaches of various countries in Vietnam and many international friends who have supported Vietnam in the cause of national liberation and national construction.

The leaders of Nghe An province include comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; and nearly 300 delegates.People with revolutionary contributions, policy families, ethnic minorities, religious dignitaries, department and branch officials.

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, in this sacred moment, our Party, State, people and army respectfully remember and pay tribute to the great President Ho Chi Minh - Genius Leader, Hero of National Liberation, Beloved Father of the People's Armed Forces.

We will forever remember and be grateful to our predecessor leaders, heroic martyrs, wounded and sick soldiers, heroic Vietnamese mothers, heroes of the People's Armed Forces, heroes of labor; compatriots and soldiers nationwide, and international friends who have sacrificed, contributed and given valuable help to the revolutionary cause of our nation.

The spirit of the August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam are immortal, forever a source of pride and a driving force urging the entire Vietnamese people to continue the indomitable spirit and aspiration for independence - freedom - happiness of their ancestors, fostering their mettle, intelligence, strong innovation, constant creativity, and determination to build a comprehensively and sustainably developed Vietnam in the new era - the era of the Vietnamese people's rise.

Opening the parade was the art performance "Drum Festival" performed by more than 1,000 students and officers of the People's Police Academy, creating a vibrant atmosphere, recreating the spirit of solidarity, discipline and youthfulness of the police force.

Next is the torch-carrying ceremony and the lighting of the traditional revolutionary fire. The traditional fire, a symbol of the indomitable will, immortal strength; the eternal aspiration of the Vietnamese people; forged from thousands of years of history of building and defending the country; is carried from the Ho Chi Minh Museum and is entering Ba Dinh Square.

The flame was handed over to Lieutenant General, Hero of the People's Armed Forces Nguyen Duc Soat - former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, who had an exceptionally outstanding achievement, shooting down 6 enemy planes, becoming one of the heroic pilots of the Vietnam People's Army to light the flame.

The fire was lit on the pyre; a call to arms to encourage the entire Party, people and army to be one, to promote the tradition of patriotism, the strength of great national unity, and to be determined to build and firmly defend the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam.

At exactly 6:45 a.m., all the delegates, compatriots, and comrades at Ba Dinh Square performed the flag-raising ceremony. Tens of thousands of people sang the national anthem in unison. The flag-raising ceremony took place amid the thunderous sound of 21 cannon shots.

Delivering a speech commemorating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on September 2, General Secretary To Lam emphasized that the Vietnamese Fatherland is the crystallization of a thousand-year cultural tradition of building and defending the country; of steadfastness, intelligence, compassion and aspiration to rise up.

That spirit has forged the great strength of the August Revolution; of the two long resistance wars against colonialism and imperialism; of the cause of building and defending the Fatherland in peace; of the cause of innovation, international integration and national development.

"That is the strength originating from the People, belonging to the People, for the People; the strength of the great national unity bloc under the glorious flag of the Communist Party of Vietnam founded, led and trained by President Ho Chi Minh," the General Secretary affirmed.

General Secretary To Lam called on the entire Party, the entire people, the entire army, and our compatriots at home and abroad, through concrete and practical actions, to unite, join hands, and be of one mind, turning aspirations into reality; to make more efforts and be more determined; to highly promote Vietnamese intelligence, creativity, and mettle; and to successfully carry out the goals and tasks set by the Party and State and expected by the People.

"We are determined and persistent in protecting the independence, freedom, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and every inch of sacred land of the Fatherland with the combined strength of the entire nation: political, economic, cultural, scientific, technological, military, foreign affairs strength and the strength of the people.

We want to be friends and trusted partners with all countries in the world. We respect international law and the United Nations Charter; resolve disagreements and disputes by peaceful means. We absolutely do not tolerate any plots and actions that violate independence, sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity; and resolutely protect the interests of the nation and people," General Secretary To Lam emphasized.

Long live the Vietnamese nation; Peaceful Vietnamese Fatherland; Prosperous and developing Vietnamese people. Long live the glorious Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Long live the glorious Communist Party of Vietnam. Great President Ho Chi Minh lives forever in our cause. Glory forever belongs to the People.

At exactly 7:45 a.m., Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nghia - Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army - directed the parade program. "The parade begins" - Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nghia shouted.

National parade, with the participation of about 30,000 people (not including the parade force) and armed forces and the masses. There is participation of parade forces from guest countries.

The parade was attended by nearly 16,000 officers and soldiers, including 43 walking groups (26 army groups, 17 police groups) and foreign army groups, 18 standing groups, 14 military and special forces vehicle groups of the army and police.

Opening the parade rehearsal, the heroic Vietnam People's Air Force squadrons flew across the sky of the Fatherland.

Leading the way was a squadron of Mi-171, Mi-17, and Mi-8 helicopters, carrying the Party flag and the national flag flying over the historic Ba Dinh Square, symbolizing the strength of great solidarity, the pride of the Party and the nation, demonstrating the mettle, intelligence, and aspiration to build the country to take off and soar in the new era.

Next, the Casa C-295 and C212i transport aircraft - the "silent warriors", are responsible for combat coordination, reconnaissance, transportation, and search and rescue.

Also participating in the welcoming flight were the Yak-130, L-39NG and Su-30MK2. In addition, the rehearsal included an explanation and introduction on the screen to follow the armed forces parading at sea at Cam Ranh Military Base, Khanh Hoa Province.

After 40 years since 1985, the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day September 2nd was held for the second time at Ba Dinh Square with a large number of vehicles, weapons and equipment participating in the parade.

Notably, the vehicles and artillery appearing this time are all modern weapons in the inventory of the Vietnam People's Army and People's Public Security.

Closing the lineup is a suicide UAV vehicle researched and manufactured by the General Department of Defense Industry of Vietnam. This is a new line of weapons, representing an important step forward in the process of self-sufficiency in defense technology. The parade blocks demonstrated the heroic spirit and momentum of the people's armed forces, combined with the rhythmic march of weapons, equipment, and special vehicles, showing the modernization of the Vietnam People's Army and People's Public Security; demonstrating the combined strength, combat readiness, and level of regularity of the armed forces and the spirit of great national unity.

Today's parade and marching formation recreates and affirms the great stature and great value of the August Revolution, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam - the first people's democratic state in Southeast Asia; smashing the domination of colonialism and fascism; abolishing the feudal regime; creating a historical turning point, turning our country from a colony into an independent, sovereign nation; our people from being slaves to becoming masters of the country; opening a new era - the era of national independence and socialism.
