Domestic coffee prices are currently overbought, so a short-term price drop is entirely possible. However, overall investor sentiment remains quite optimistic about the long-term outlook.

Robusta coffee prices have risen sharply over the past month, bringing joy to those holding the commodity, but also raising concerns about a price bubble that could burst at any time.

Today’s international trading session saw a drop of hundreds of points, a sign that the market will continue to be volatile. Traders need to be extremely careful to manage risks effectively.

Although Robusta is Vietnam's main product, in the first 7 months of 2025, Arabica coffee prices were the bright spot in terms of exports. Figures from the General Department of Customs show that the volume of Arabica exported reached 59,300 tons with a value of 93.4 million USD, up 16% in volume and a sharp increase of 129% in value compared to the same period last year.

After only 2 trading sessions, the price of Robusta coffee futures for November 2025 has dropped sharply by 416 USD/ton, the rate of decrease is even faster than the increase. In Vietnamese currency, the current price is only about 115,000 VND/kg.

According to expert Nguyen Quang Binh, this price reduction is influenced by a number of factors. Regarding supply, the rainy situation in Brazil has reduced concerns about the risk of crop failure in the coming season.

Another factor is the US decision on reciprocal tariffs. The US court ruled the decision illegal and President Donald Trump has appealed. The tariffs will remain in place until a final ruling is made, although the market is expecting the import tariffs to be reduced to zero.

In addition, the European Union (EU) Anti-Deforestation Law, expected to take effect by the end of 2025, will also have a strong impact, mainly affecting the Brazilian coffee industry, causing Arabica prices to fall and pulling Robusta prices down as well.
