Currently, Vietnamese coffee is in the lean season. The new harvest will begin in November 2025, leading to abundant supply and, as usual, prices tend to decrease during this period.
The average coffee price is currently at VND115,600/kg, although high, it is still VND6,700 to VND7,200/kg (about 5-6%) lower than the peak at the end of August.
One positive factor is that after two strong price increases, farmers in both Vietnam and Brazil now have quite stable finances, allowing them to be more proactive in regulating sales, thereby supporting prices at a profitable level.
In the last months of the year, Vietnam's coffee exports are expected to grow positively thanks to strong recovery in demand from major markets such as Europe, the US and Asia, while world prices remain high.
The global situation also has a big impact. Brazil has just announced that its August export output was only 142,800 tons, down 31% compared to the same period last year. The slow supply from this country to the market has contributed to the global supply shortage.
However, the coffee industry still faces many challenges such as weather fluctuations, increasing transportation costs and increasingly stringent requirements for quality and traceability. To achieve sustainable growth, the industry needs to focus on stabilizing supply, promoting deep processing and improving product standards.
