Currently, Vietnamese coffee is in the transitional period between harvests. The new harvest will begin in November 2025, leading to an abundant supply, and as is customary, prices tend to decrease during this time.

The average price of coffee is currently at 115,600 VND/kg, which, although high, is still 6,700 to 7,200 VND/kg lower (about 5-6%) than the peak at the end of August.

One positive factor is that after two seasons of sharp price increases, farmers in both Vietnam and Brazil now have relatively stable finances, allowing them to be more proactive in managing sales and thus supporting prices at a favorable level.

Forecasts for the remaining months of the year indicate that Vietnam's coffee exports are expected to experience positive growth thanks to strong demand recovery from major markets such as Europe, the US, and Asia, while world prices remain high.

The global situation is also having a significant impact. Brazil just announced that its August export volume reached only 142,800 tons, a decrease of 31% compared to the same period last year. The slow supply from this country to the market has contributed to the global supply shortage.

However, the coffee industry still faces numerous challenges such as weather fluctuations, rising transportation costs, and increasingly stringent requirements for quality and traceability. For sustainable growth, the industry needs to focus on stabilizing supply, promoting deep processing, and raising product standards.

World coffee prices today

On the London exchange, the online price of robusta coffee futures for September 2025 delivery reached $4,587 per ton, down 1.27% ($59 per ton) from yesterday. The November 2025 futures contract increased 1.26% ($55 per ton) to $4,426 per ton.

On the New York Stock Exchange, the price of Arabica coffee for September 2025 delivery fell 1.21% (4.8 US cents/pound) compared to yesterday, to 393 US cents/pound. The December 2025 contract increased 0.37% (1.4 US cents/pound), reaching 383.2 US cents/pound.

World coffee prices, after rising, reversed course and fell slightly towards the end of the session due to a stronger US dollar, which stimulated profit-taking and sell-offs from investors.
