Domestic dealers have warned of a downward trend early on as the market has seen a slow increase in domestic prices but a faster decrease than international listed prices. Foreign customers no longer accept spot purchases at high prices, but only place orders for long-term purchases at a deep discount compared to the floor.

Expert Nguyen Quang Binh described the recent trading session as “unprecedented” due to the rapid sell-off, especially in Arabica products. This is considered one of the rare strong fluctuations in the coffee market.

In the country, the gap between buying and selling prices of coffee usually fluctuates only about 500 VND/kg. However, with fluctuations of up to several thousand VND per day, many traders are forced to stay on the sidelines to avoid the great risks of this instability.
