Solid foundation

Yen Thanh commune was established by merging four administrative units of the former Yen Thanh district: Hoa Thanh, Van Thanh, Dong Thanh, and Tang Thanh communes. The commune covers an area of ​​38.13 km² and has a population of 47,780 people. The commune's Party Committee has 92 affiliated Party organizations with a total of 2,617 Party members.

Thanks to the tradition of unity, shared responsibility, and consensus from within the Party to the entire population, Yen Thanh commune quickly stabilized its organization, effectively implemented political tasks, and created new momentum and strength for the next stage of development. The political system from the commune to the villages has been strengthened and operates effectively, contributing to improved management, administration, and task implementation.

During the 2020-2025 termYen Thanh has achieved many important results in various fields. The total value of production in the commune is estimated at over 4,663,218 million VND; average per capita income reached 75.52 million VND/year, exceeding the set target. The economic structure has shifted in the right direction: from agricultural production to the development of industry, trade, and services. In particular, agriculture is increasingly oriented towards commodity production; trade and services are developing rapidly; and small-scale industries are expanding, creating more jobs for the people.

Yen Thanh commune identifies Party building and the political system as key tasks; emphasis is placed on improving the leadership capacity and fighting strength of Party organizations. Inspection, supervision, mass mobilization, and administrative reform are carried out seriously and effectively. Political and ideological education and the protection of the Party's ideological foundation are strengthened...

One of the outstanding achievements is the movement to build new rural areas, advanced new rural areas, and civilized urban areas. The commune's infrastructure has been invested in comprehensively. Most key development indicators have met or exceeded the plan. Socio-economic infrastructure continues to be upgraded, attracting investment with positive results.

The socio-cultural sector has seen many significant changes. Social security is ensured, and the material and spiritual lives of the people are constantly improving. Education and healthcare have achieved many outstanding results. The rate of people participating in health insurance reached 97.1%, and the rate of malnutrition among children under 5 years old decreased to 10.5%. The quality of education continues to be maintained at a high level.

National defense and security have always been maintained, and the militia and regular police forces have been strengthened, contributing to ensuring political security and public order in the area.

Building a dynamic rural area.

Entering the new term of 2025–2030, the Party Committee of Yen Thanh commune has clearly defined its strategic direction in the local development: strengthening the Party and the political system to be clean and strong; and improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the state management apparatus. With a long-term vision and the high determination of the entire Party Committee, government, and people, Yen Thanh commune is striving to awaken the aspiration for development and create a new face for the rural area.

Yen Thanh commune effectively utilizes the potential and advantages of National Highway 7, which runs through the area for approximately 6 km, to promote the development of trade and services. In addition, the locality focuses on exploiting the available labor force to serve traditional industries such as textiles and carpentry in the industrial cluster within the commune. Furthermore, the commune promotes the planning and development of clean agriculture, with a focus on building specialized high-quality rice cultivation areas, contributing to increasing the value of agricultural production and improving the lives of the people.

Accordingly, specific goals are clearly set out with a roadmap: By 2030, the average annual growth rate of the commune's gross domestic product will reach 12-13%; average per capita income will reach 120-130 million VND/year; budget revenue will reach 350-400 billion VND; the economic structure will shift strongly towards industry and services, gradually reducing the proportion of agriculture. Notably, the commune strives to develop 5 OCOP products achieving 3 stars or higher, total grain production will reach over 19,100 tons, and total social investment will reach 4,200 billion VND… By 2028, Yen Thanh will achieve advanced new rural standards, and by 2030, achieve modern new rural standards according to the new set of criteria. Along with economic development, technical and social infrastructure will be invested in comprehensively.

Expressing her expectations after the First Party Congress of Yen Thanh Commune, term 2025–2030, Ms. Le Thi Minh, a resident of Yen Thanh Commune, shared: “We are very confident that after the Congress, our homeland will prosper more, the economy will develop, the lives of the people will be increasingly improved and enhanced, and Yen Thanh Commune will be a desirable place to live.”

In particular, Yen Thanh commune is implementing a comprehensive transformation in its development thinking. Science and technology, digital transformation, and knowledge are considered key drivers; people and culture are the solid foundation. From there, the locality focuses on developing the digital economy, promoting smart agriculture, modern services, and expanding clean, environmentally friendly industries. At the same time, sectors and fields will be restructured towards: trade and services and industry and construction as the mainstays; developing high-tech agriculture, organic agriculture, circular agriculture, and adapting to climate change.

During its development, Yen Thanh not only leveraged its internal strengths but also actively attracted external resources. The commune proactively and effectively exploited local potential and advantages; mobilized resources from within and outside the budget; strongly promoted digital transformation and the application of science and technology, creating breakthroughs in infrastructure and the investment environment, enhancing competitiveness, and developing the private economy.

Alongside economic growth, the commune also focuses on socio-cultural development and improving the quality of life for its people. Social welfare policies, sustainable poverty reduction, healthcare, and education are effectively implemented. National defense and security continue to be maintained, ensuring stable social order and safety, creating a favorable environment for development.

In the new term, with the motto "Unity - Democracy - Discipline - Breakthrough - Development," the Party Committee and people of Yen Thanh commune will continue to strongly promote this.
