Vietnam’s 2025-2026 coffee crop is expected to produce the highest output in the past four years, thanks to favorable weather and stronger investment from farmers. Output is forecast to reach about 1.76 million tons, up about 6% compared to last year.
This situation is expected to contribute to reducing the global supply shortage, thereby helping to cool down the recently heated coffee prices.
According to the assessment, the coffee gardens are currently growing very well. This year's weather has had abundant rainfall, which is very favorable for the plants. In addition, thanks to the high coffee prices of recent times, farmers have boldly invested in more fertilizers and applied new care techniques, and in some places have even converted their areas to coffee cultivation to increase production.
As the world’s largest supplier of Robusta, Vietnam’s bumper crop will help offset a global shortage after two poor seasons, seen as crucial to reining in coffee prices, which have surged 42% in the past month alone.
However, experts also warn that the strong increase in supply may create downward pressure on coffee prices in the future. The coffee industry needs to have an appropriate export strategy to both protect the interests of farmers and maintain competitiveness in the international market.
