Nghe An increases water discharge flow of Chi Khe Hydropower Plant reservoir, Con Cuong commune
From 8:30 p.m. tonight, September 27, the Chi Khe Hydropower Plant reservoir in Con Cuong commune will discharge water with an expected discharge flow of 2,000 m3/s to 3,500 m3/s.
At 4:03 p.m. on September 27, the Provincial Civil Defense Command received Notice No. 21 dated September 27, 2025 from Chi Khe Hydropower Joint Stock Company on the operation of increasing the discharge flow of water from the reservoir of Chi Khe Hydropower Plant.
To ensure the safe regulation of water in Chi Khe Hydropower Plant's reservoir according to the approved Single Reservoir Procedure and Inter-reservoir Procedure on the Ca River Basin, Chi Khe Hydropower Joint Stock Company announces the planned increase in water discharge flow of Chi Khe Hydropower Plant's reservoir as follows:
Estimated traffic increase time is 20:30, September 27, 2025.
Expected discharge from 2,000m3/s to 3,500m3/s (including spillway discharge and generator generation) and may vary depending on the water flow to the lake.
The water discharge through the spillway will end when the water flow to Chi Khe Lake is equivalent to the electricity generation flow through the generators.
The Provincial Civil Defense Command notifies the People's Committees of the following communes and wards: Con Cuong, Cam Phuc, Chau Khe, Mau Thach, Anh Son, Yen Xuan, Nhan Hoa, Anh Son Dong, Vinh Tuong, Thanh Binh Tho, Do Luong, Bach Ngoc, Van Hien, Bach Ha, Thuan Trung, Luong Son, Cat Ngan, Dai Dong, Xuan Lam, Hoa Quan, Bich Hao, Kim Bang, Tam Dong, Kim Lien, Thien Nhan, Dai Hue, Nam Dan, Van An, Lam Thanh, Hung Nguyen, Yen Trung, Hung Nguyen Nam, Nghi Loc, Phuc Loc, Dong Loc, Trung Loc, Than Linh, Hai Loc, Tien Dong, Truong Vinh, Thanh Vinh, Vinh Hung, Vinh Phu, Vinh Loc, Cua Lo; Heads of provincial departments, branches and sectors are informed to notify authorities at all levels, agencies, units, investors constructing along the river, on the river, owners of water transport vehicles and all people in the area downstream of Chi Khe Hydropower Plant to carry out necessary work, ensuring the safety of life and property of the State and people.
