Nghe An increases water discharge rate from Chi Khe Hydropower Plant reservoir in Con Cuong commune.
From 8:30 PM tonight, September 27th, the Chi Khe Hydropower Plant reservoir in Con Cuong commune will release water at an expected flow rate of 2,000 m3/s to 3,500 m3/s.
At 4:03 PM on September 27th, the Provincial Civil Defense Command received Notice No. 21 dated September 27th, 2025 from Chi Khe Hydropower Joint Stock Company regarding the increased water discharge from the Chi Khe Hydropower Plant reservoir.

To ensure the safe regulation of water levels in the Chi Khe Hydropower Plant reservoir in accordance with the approved single-reservoir and multi-reservoir operating procedures on the Ca River basin, Chi Khe Hydropower Joint Stock Company announces the planned increase in water discharge from the Chi Khe Hydropower Plant reservoir as follows:
The planned increase in traffic volume is at 8:30 PM on September 27, 2025.
Expected discharge flow rate is 2,000m³.3/s up to 3,500m3/s (including discharge flow through the spillway and power generation flow through the turbines) and may vary depending on the inflow of water into the reservoir.
Water release through the spillway will cease when the inflow of water into Chi Khe reservoir is equivalent to the power generation flow through the turbines.
The Provincial Civil Defense Command announces to the People's Committees of the following communes and wards: Con Cuong, Cam Phuc, Chau Khe, Mau Thach, Anh Son, Yen Xuan, Nhan Hoa, Anh Son Dong, Vinh Tuong, Thanh Binh Tho, Do Luong, Bach Ngoc, Van Hien, Bach Ha, Thuan Trung, Luong Son, Cat Ngan, Dai Dong, Xuan Lam, Hoa Quan, Bich Hao, Kim Bang, Tam Dong, Kim Lien, Thien Nhan, Dai Hue, Nam Dan, Van An, Lam Thanh, Hung Nguyen, Yen Trung, Hung Nguyen Nam, Nghi Loc, Phuc Loc, Dong Loc, Trung Loc, Than Linh, Hai Loc, Tien Dong, Truong Vinh, Thanh Vinh, Vinh Hung, Vinh Phu, Vinh Loc, Cua Lo; Heads of provincial departments and agencies are hereby informed to notify all levels of government, agencies, units, investors currently constructing along and on the river, owners of water transport vessels, and all people in the downstream area of the Chi Khe Hydropower Plant to implement necessary measures to ensure the safety of lives and property of the State and the people.
