Thus, the gold bar price is 14.8 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.

In yesterday afternoon’s trading session, domestic gold prices only temporarily stopped increasing when world gold prices suddenly plummeted. However, during the night and early this morning, when international gold prices rebounded, domestic gold prices also immediately reacted, pushing SJC gold bars and gold rings to new record highs.

It is noteworthy that the price difference between SJC gold bars and gold rings continues to widen from 3.5 to 4 million VND/tael, depending on the brand.

The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) has issued a draft Circular guiding Decree 24/2012 and Decree 232/2025. According to this draft, enterprises and commercial banks wishing to produce gold bars must submit applications for raw gold import quotas and gold bar import and export quotas for the following year. The applications must be submitted before November 15 every year. Then, before December 15, the SBV will review and grant or refuse the quota, stating the reasons.

This means that, even if the new Circular is issued in October 2025, the import of raw gold can only begin in early 2026 at the earliest.

In other words, in the next few months, domestic gold supply will not change much, and domestic gold prices will still find it difficult to separate from the upward and downward trajectory of world gold prices.
