Urgently fix the landslide on Highway 48 to Thong Thu Border Gate
Due to the influence of storm No. 10, on the afternoon of October 2, at Km133+300, National Highway 48, through Thong Thu Commune (Nghe An), a serious landslide occurred with about 25,000 m³ of soil and rock flowing down, completely cutting off the road. Currently, the authorities are urgently working to clear the road and ensure safety for people and vehicles.

Mr. Tran Hong Long - Maintenance Department 2, Road Maintenance Management Board (Nghe An Department of Construction), informed:“Immediately after the landslide, we mobilized maximum machinery to level the area and open a temporary traffic lane to ensure people's safety.

Although the repair work is being urgently deployed, due to the large amount of landslides and difficult terrain, the clearance of National Highway 48 to Thong Thu Border Gate is expected to take many more days.
According to the Dong Van Road Management Department, there are about 30 more landslides along the route from Km131 to Km160, with an estimated volume of 60,000 m³, causing traffic congestion. Currently, the authorities are making every effort to mobilize maximum machinery and vehicles to clear the road to ensure people's safety.
