“Border - Full Moon Festival” brings Mid-Autumn Festival to children in border areas
On the evening of October 3, Ngoc Lam Border Guard Station (Nghe An Provincial Border Guard Command) coordinated with the Party Committee and People's Committee of Son Lam commune to organize the program "Border - Full Moon Festival Night" for students in the area.

The program presented 1,200 gifts, including moon cakes and star lanterns... worth 31.6 million VND. This amount was supported by Pharmacist Thai Thuy Lam (Ho Chi Minh City). This is a meaningful spiritual gift, helping children in the Son Lam border area have a complete and warm Mid-Autumn Festival after days affected by storm No. 10.

Lieutenant Colonel Phan Thanh Hong - Head of Ngoc Lam Border Guard Station said that the program not only brings joy to children but also contributes to strengthening the solidarity between the army and people in the border area. "In the common difficulties after the storm and flood, organizing the Mid-Autumn Festival for the children is a way for us, the government and philanthropists, to share and give people more motivation to be more confident in life."

The festival was held in a bustling, warm atmosphere. The sound of lion dance drums, the special performances in the bright lights combined with the innocent smiles of the children made the village seem to dispel the worries after the flood. The moon cakes and star lanterns, though small, contained the hearts of the soldiers in green uniforms and the goodwill from far away sent to the border area.

Pharmacist Thai Thuy Lam, who accompanied the program, expressed: “I want to bring small gifts to the children in the border areas, so that they can feel the care and love from the community. Mid-Autumn Festival is a children's festival, and their joy is the motivation for us to continue accompanying the people here.”

The support from the Border Guard and philanthropists has given the locality spiritual strength, especially in the context of the recent storm No. 10 which caused a lot of damage, making people's lives difficult. Seeing children playing and enjoying the moonlit feast, one can feel more clearly the bond between the government, the army and the people.

“Border - Full Moon Festival” is not only a volunteer activity, but also affirms the responsibility and affection of border guards towards the young generation in the highlands. In the full moon light of early August, the smiles of children in Son Lam village light up like the belief in solidarity, unity to overcome natural disasters, and build a prosperous life in the Nghe An border./.
