"Borderland - Mid-Autumn Festival Night" brings the Mid-Autumn Festival to children in border regions.
On the evening of October 3rd, Ngoc Lam Border Guard Station (under the Nghe An Provincial Border Guard Command) coordinated with the Party Committee and People's Committee of Son Lam commune to organize the "Borderland - Mid-Autumn Festival Night" program for students in the area.

The program distributed 1,200 gift packages, including mooncakes and star-shaped lanterns, worth 31.6 million VND. This funding was provided by pharmacist Thai Thuy Lam (Ho Chi Minh City). This meaningful gift helped the children in the border area of Son Lam have a complete and warm Mid-Autumn Festival after being affected by Typhoon No. 10.

Lieutenant Colonel Phan Thanh Hong, Commander of Ngoc Lam Border Guard Station, said that the program not only brought joy to the children but also contributed to strengthening the solidarity and close relationship between the military and the people in the border region. "In the midst of the common difficulties after the storms and floods, organizing the Mid-Autumn Festival for the children is a way for us, along with the government and benefactors, to share and provide encouragement, giving the people more confidence in life."

The festival was held in a lively and warm atmosphere. The sound of lion dance drums echoed, and spectacular cultural performances under the bright lights, combined with the innocent smiles of the children, helped to dispel the worries of the village after the floods. The mooncakes and star-shaped lanterns, though small, contained the heartfelt sentiments of the soldiers in green uniforms and the charitable hearts sent from afar to the border region.

Pharmacist Thai Thuy Lam, a participant in the program, expressed: “I want to bring small gifts to the children in the border region, so that they can feel the care and love from the community. Mid-Autumn Festival is a children's festival, and the joy of the children is the motivation for us to continue accompanying the people here.”

The support from the Border Guard and philanthropists has boosted the morale of the local community, especially in the context of the recent Typhoon No. 10 which caused significant damage and hardship for the people. Seeing the children playing and enjoying the festivities under the moonlight further strengthens the bond between the government, the military, and the people.

“Borderland – Mid-Autumn Festival Night” is not only a charitable activity, but also affirms the responsibility and affection of border guards towards the younger generation in the highlands. In the light of the full moon at the beginning of August, the smiles of children in Son Lam village shine brightly, symbolizing the belief in unity and solidarity in overcoming natural disasters and building a prosperous life in the border region of Nghe An.
