List of traffic violations recorded by AI-powered traffic cameras.

The violations recorded by AI-powered traffic cameras include: running red lights, driving in the wrong lane, driving against the flow of traffic, illegal parking, not wearing a helmet, using a phone while driving, not wearing a seatbelt, carrying too many passengers, or speeding.

Many people mistakenly believe that only cars are penalized, but in reality, AI-powered cameras record violations for both motorcycles and scooters. All violations are sent to the vehicle owner for processing. Failure to comply may result in the vehicle owner being denied registration or inspection.

The Traffic Police Department stated that in the coming time, they will continue to refine the legal process to hold motorcycle owners accountable, while expanding the application of AI cameras for automated traffic enforcement in monitoring, aiming to build a safe and civilized traffic culture.

The highlight of AI-powered traffic cameras is their ability to pan 360 degrees, recognize faces and license plates from a distance of 500-700 meters. The captured images are transmitted directly to the Command Center for analysis and processing.

Upon detecting a violation, the AI-powered camera system will automatically send a notification to the vehicle owner via the VNeID, VNeTraffic, or local police app within minutes. Specifically:

On Le Van Luong street, in just 24 hours since the deployment of AI-powered traffic cameras, the system detected 29 cases of lane violations, mainly in the BRT lane. On Pham Van Bach - Hoang Quan Chi street, where AI-powered traffic cameras had been installed previously, 239 cases of not wearing helmets and 169 cases of running red lights were recorded.

On the Noi Bai – Lao Cai expressway, AI-powered cameras recorded over 2,000 vehicles, detecting many drivers not wearing seat belts. The number of violations decreased significantly after people learned that the area was being monitored by the AI system.

In addition to monitoring and processing traffic violations, the AI-powered traffic camera system also integrates intelligent traffic light control capabilities. By analyzing traffic flow in real time, the cameras can automatically adjust the green-red light cycle, helping to reduce congestion and increase average travel speed on main routes.

In particular, in the near future, many inner-city streets will no longer require constant traffic police presence, as AI-powered cameras for automated traffic enforcement will take on the role of comprehensive monitoring.

By the third quarter of 2026, the system will be further expanded to handle littering, sidewalk encroachment, illegal waste disposal, and automatically extract data for administrative penalties.

Guide to checking traffic violations from AI-powered cameras for automated traffic enforcement.

Citizens can easily look up traffic violations detected by AI-powered cameras by accessing the Traffic Police Department's electronic portal, selecting the "Lookup traffic violations via image" option, and then entering the license plate number and verification code.

Alternatively, you can also look up your information directly on the VNeID app or contact your local traffic police department for assistance.
