Instead of following in their families' footsteps in the arts, the children of many famous Vietnamese artists, such as People's Artist Thu Que and Meritorious Artist Pham Cuong, actor Chi Bao, and singer Bang Kieu, have chosen to pursue law and achieved impressive academic results, affirming their own unique path.
The family of People's Artist Thu Quế and Meritorious Artist Phạm Cường: Both children are studying Law.
The family of artists Thu Que and Pham Cuong recently received joyful news as their youngest son, Pham Minh Duy, has officially been accepted into Hanoi Law University. People's Artist Thu Que shared her pride in her son's efforts throughout his 12 years of study.
On her personal page, the female artist wrote: "My son, De, has officially been admitted to the Law Faculty of Hanoi Law University! All the hard work, 12 years of studying, the efforts of the whole family, my son himself, the gratitude to the teachers, and the three universities where he studied. Now he has officially entered the doors of university. Congratulations, my son!"
Notably, Minh Duy has followed in the footsteps of his older sister, Pham Que Ha Vi, who also graduated with a degree in Legal English from the same university. Ha Vi sent her congratulations to her younger brother and called him her "junior." Currently, Ha Vi is pursuing a career in the tea ceremony.
Pham Minh Duy not only has excellent academic achievements but also possesses a striking appearance with a height of over 1.80m. Both People's Artist Thu Que and Meritorious Artist Pham Cuong work in the military environment and hold the rank of Colonel. Meritorious Artist Pham Cuong currently serves as the Director of the People's Army Film Studio.
Chi Bảo's son: Graduated with honors and is pursuing a Master's degree in Law in the UK.
Pham Gia Cat (born in 2001), the eldest son of actor Chi Bao and his ex-wife Hong Loan, is also a prominent figure with outstanding academic achievements in Law. In July 2024, Gia Cat graduated with honors in Law from the University of Manchester, one of the leading universities in the UK.
After completing his bachelor's degree, he went on to be accepted into a Master of Laws program at Durham University, another prestigious institution. Actor Chi Bảo shared that his son scored 40 points on his graduation exam, far exceeding the 35-36 point requirement of the top universities he applied to.
To celebrate his son's success, Chi Bảo, along with his mother, his current wife Lý Thùy Chang, and his young son Gia Khang, traveled to England to attend the graduation ceremony. Lý Thùy Chang has a close relationship with Gia Cát and also expressed her joy at his achievement.
Bang Kieu's son: Pursuing his dream of becoming a lawyer in the US.
Colin, the second son of singer Bang Kieu and his ex-wife Trizzie Phuong Trinh, has also chosen an educational path related to law. He has been accepted and will be studying at a law school in the US with the dream of becoming a lawyer. According to reports, Colin will be studying law for the next seven years.
Trizzie Phuong Trinh expressed her pride that her son was included in Cal Poly Pomona's Dean's List 2025. She shared: “Today you have proven to me that my son is not only responsible but also very independent. Keep that spirit up, because I believe you will go even further, my future lawyer.”
On the occasion of his son's 18th birthday and to prepare him for university life, Bang Kieu gifted him a new car as a means of transportation. This gift was also his way of making up for the time he couldn't attend his son's graduation ceremony due to his work schedule in Vietnam.
