Instead of following in their family's artistic footsteps, the children of many famous Vietnamese artists such as People's Artist Thu Que and Meritorious Artist Pham Cuong, actor Chi Bao and singer Bang Kieu chose to pursue Law and achieved remarkable academic achievements, affirming their own path.
Family of People's Artist Thu Que - Meritorious Artist Pham Cuong: Both children study Law
The family of artists Thu Que and Pham Cuong has just received good news when their youngest son, Pham Minh Duy, was officially admitted to Hanoi Law University. People's Artist Thu Que shared her pride in her son's efforts throughout 12 years of studying.
On her personal page, the female artist wrote: “Child De has officially passed the Law Faculty of Hanoi Law University! With all the hard work, 12 years of studying, the efforts of the whole family, of my son, the teachers, and the 3 schools where he studied. Now he has officially entered the university door. Congratulations, my son.”
Notably, Minh Duy followed in the footsteps of his older sister, Pham Que Ha Vi, who also graduated from the same school with a degree in Legal English. Ha Vi congratulated her younger brother and called him her "junior". Currently, Ha Vi is pursuing a career in the tea ceremony field.
Pham Minh Duy not only has good academic achievements but also possesses an outstanding appearance with a height of over 1m80. Both People's Artist Thu Que and Meritorious Artist Pham Cuong work in the military environment and hold the rank of Colonel. Meritorious Artist Pham Cuong currently holds the position of Director of the People's Army Cinema.
Chi Bao's son: Graduated with honors and studied for a Master of Laws in England
Pham Gia Cat (born in 2001), the eldest son of actor Chi Bao and his ex-wife Hong Loan, is also a prominent figure with excellent academic achievements in the field of Law. In July 2024, Gia Cat graduated with a Bachelor of Laws with honors from the University of Manchester, one of the top universities in the UK.
After completing his bachelor's degree, he continued to be admitted and studied for a Master of Laws at Durham University, another prestigious school. Actor Chi Bao shared that his son scored 40 points in the graduation exam, far exceeding the 35-36 point requirement of the top universities he applied to.
To celebrate his son's success, Chi Bao, his mother, his current wife Ly Thuy Chang and his young son Gia Khang went to England to attend the graduation ceremony. Ly Thuy Chang has a close relationship with Gia Cat and also expressed her joy at his achievement.
Bang Kieu's son: Pursuing his dream of becoming a lawyer in the US
Colin, the second son of singer Bang Kieu and his ex-wife Trizzie Phuong Trinh, has also chosen a legal education path. He has been accepted and will study at a law school in the US with the dream of becoming a lawyer. According to the share, Colin will study law for the next 7 years.
Trizzie Phuong Trinh expressed her pride when her son was named to the Dean's List 2025 at Cal Poly Pomona. She shared: "Today you have shown me that my son is not only responsible but also very independent. Keep up the good work, because I believe you will go even further, my future lawyer."
On the occasion of his 18th birthday and to prepare for his student life, Bang Kieu gave his son a new car as a means of transportation. This gift is also his way of making up for his son's feelings for not being able to attend the graduation ceremony due to his work schedule in Vietnam.
