Duyen Quynh: A thriving career and plans to study for a Master's degree
Following the success of the song "Continuing the story of peace", singer and vocal instructor Duyen Quynh shares about changes in her career and plans to pursue a professional education.
Singer Duyen Quynh (born in 1990), who is widely known for the song "Continuing the story of peace", said she is planning to return to the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music to pursue a Master's degree. This is part of her plan to develop a professional vocal teaching career, in parallel with performing arts activities.
The turning point from "Continuing the story of peace"
Duyen Quynh admitted that 2025 is a "life-changing" year thanks to the strong effect of the song "Continuing the story of peace". This success not only helps her become more known to the audience but also brings a busy performance schedule, contributing to significantly improving her life. "From the success of the song, I became more known to the audience and had more fans. My life has improved thanks to the performances and new music projects", she shared.
Dual roles: Artist and teacher
Graduated from the Vocal Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music, Duyen Quynh always maintains two jobs in parallel: a performing artist and a vocal instructor. She said these are two completely opposite jobs. When performing on stage, everything must be perfect, no mistakes are allowed. On the contrary, when teaching, she must demonstrate mistakes so that students can recognize and correct them.
"There was a time when I taught during the day and sang at night. That was very tiring!", Duyen Quynh confided. To balance, she always created breaks between the two jobs to regain energy and ensure the best condition for each role.
Passion for the 300 children's songs project
Since 2023, Duyen Quynh has collaborated with musician Nguyen Van Chung on the long-term project "300 children's songs". In this project, she takes on the role of "teacher Quynh", directly teaching and performing 300 songs composed by Nguyen Van Chung. The lecture videos are posted on social media platforms and receive positive feedback from parents, teachers and children.
Following the success of the videos, the project continued to develop with the recording of audio versions for all 300 songs. Duyen Quynh said she has completed more than 200 songs and is continuing to work on them. The goal of the project is to create a diverse musical playground, suitable for children, helping them access songs with educational and pure content.
Educational goals and professional teaching path
Duyen Quynh shared that since she was a student, she had planned to become a vocal teacher. Her current performing path is to pursue her passion for the stage and spread positive messages. However, her long-term goal is still teaching.
"In the near future, I have my own plans such as arranging time to return to the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music to take the graduate entrance exam to conquer the path of education and study for a Master's degree. That means I am also gradually orienting myself towards the path of teaching at professional music schools," she affirmed.
Currently, Duyen Quynh said she spends all her time on work, including performing, teaching, dubbing films and composing. She feels she is not ready for a personal relationship because she wants to focus on her career and family.
