Handling the case of two young men obstructing traffic police while performing their duties.
On the evening of January 11th, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Staff Department released official information regarding the incident involving two young men who obstructed traffic police officers while they were performing their duties.
Earlier, on the evening of January 10th, a video clip appeared on social media showing two young men obstructing traffic police officers while they were performing their duties at the Bau Cat - Tran Mai Ninh intersection in Bay Hien ward.
Through investigation and verification, the Ho Chi Minh City Police initially determined that at 2:30 AM on January 10th, while conducting alcohol breath tests on Dong Den Street, Bay Hien Ward, the patrol team of the Ban Co Traffic Police Team - Ho Chi Minh City Police Traffic Police Department discovered NNT (born in 2001) driving a motorbike carrying NHVT (born in 2003) at high speed, with the motorbike lacking a left rearview mirror... The task force used a specialized motorbike to approach and stop the vehicle for inspection in the Tran Mai Ninh Street area, Bay Hien Ward.
Here, the task force requested the driver to present the relevant documents andcheck alcohol level,However, the taxpayer was uncooperative; the bank continuously held back and tried to pull the task force officers away from the scene to force the taxpayer to leave.
At that moment, the traffic police officer's walkie-talkie fell to the ground and was picked up and thrown away by the traffic police officer. Afterward, the traffic police officer repeatedly obstructed the officers and attempted to move the vehicle away from the inspection area, but was stopped by the task force.
After the task force explained and clarified the relevant legal regulations, the passenger understood and complied with the request to cooperate with the authorities, and presented the motorcycle registration certificate (registered in the name of Mr. LTN as the owner).
The task force proceeded to draw up an administrative violation report in the presence of the traffic police officer, documenting the following specific violations committed by the driver: Failure to comply with the officer's request for a breathalyzer test; the vehicle lacking a left rearview mirror; and the driver not possessing a driver's license. Simultaneously, the Ban Co Traffic Police Team proceeded to consolidate the violation file and invited the relevant parties to the agency's headquarters for resolution.
On the afternoon of January 10th, the taxpayer and the transporter came to the Ban Co Traffic Police Team headquarters and presented their Citizen Identity Cards; the Ban Co Traffic Police Team then proceeded to draw up a report verifying the details of the administrative violation to handle it in accordance with the law.
Mr. LTN, the vehicle owner, was also issued a fine for the following violations: allowing a person who does not meet the requirements of the Law on Road Traffic Safety to drive the vehicle and arbitrarily changing the vehicle's paint color to one that does not match the color recorded in the vehicle registration certificate.
The case has now been handed over by the Ban Co Traffic Police Team to the Bay Hien Ward Police for further investigation and processing in accordance with the law.
The police agency urges citizens to raise their awareness of law enforcement, absolutely refrain from driving vehicles after consuming alcohol, beer, or stimulants; and to cooperate and comply with the instructions of law enforcement officers when being checked or processed, contributing to ensuring traffic safety and maintaining social order and safety in the area.
