Commemorating the 95th anniversary of the founding of the first Party branch in the western part of Nghe An province.
On April 12th, Mon Son commune organized a ceremony to commemorate the 95th anniversary of the establishment of the first Party branch in the western part of Nghe An province (April 1931 - April 2026), received the Certificate of Ranking as a Special National Historical Monument for the house of Mr. Vi Van Khang, and inaugurated the first Sports Festival and the Mon Son - Luc Da Festival 2026.
Attending the ceremony were Comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Dinh Hung - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; along with representatives of leaders from various departments and agencies, leaders of localities, and a large number of people and tourists.

The first Party cell in western Nghe An province was established in April 1931 in Thai Hoa village, Mon Son commune. The establishment of this cell was a particularly important milestone, marking the beginning of the revolutionary movement in the ethnic minority areas of western Nghe An, and making a significant contribution to the Nghe Tinh Soviet Uprising of 1930-1931.

Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu acknowledged and praised the outstanding achievements that the Party Committee, government, and people of Mon Son commune have achieved over the past 95 years. He emphasized that this is a great source of pride, a testament to the resilient revolutionary tradition of the heroic Mon Son region; and urged the locality to continue promoting the tradition of unity, preserving and developing the value of historical relics and ethnic cultural identity, linking it with community tourism development, and gradually improving the material and spiritual lives of the people.

Also on this occasion, Mon Son commune had the honor of receiving the Certificate of Ranking as a Special National Historical Monument for the House of Mr. Vi Van Khang - a red address with profound historical significance, closely associated with the revolutionary movement of the homeland and marking the birth of the first Party branch in the western region of Nghe An province.

Immediately following the ceremony, many unique cultural, sporting, and festive activities took place in a lively atmosphere, attracting a large number of locals and tourists, such as: a traditional food competition; a brocade weaving competition; sports competitions, folk games, etc.
