Closing Ceremony of the 8th Nghe An Press Tennis Tournament - 2026
After two days of exciting and dramatic competition, the 8th Nghe An Press Tennis Tournament - 2026 officially concluded and awarded prizes on the evening of May 30th.
Attending the event were Comrade Nguyen Dinh Hung - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, along with representatives of leaders from relevant departments, agencies, and organizations.pressThe tournament was attended by sponsors, numerous athletes, and a large number of spectators.
To commemorate the 101st anniversary of Vietnam's Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2026), the Nghe An Press Tennis Club organized the 8th Nghe An Press Tennis Tournament. With the participation of 282 athletes, this year's tournament saw a significant increase in registrations, attracting players from all three regions of Vietnam (North, Central, and South), including Hanoi, Hai Phong, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, and others.
Notably, the tournament features national team athletes, top-ranked players, and well-known names in amateur tennis such as Vu Ha Minh Duc, Truong Thanh Minh, Phat Kendo, Hoang Thanh Trung, etc. Therefore, the professional quality this year is highly regarded, providing spectators with spectacular and dramatic matches.
On the afternoon of May 30th, at the Trung Long sports complex, a large crowd of spectators came to cheer on the finals in the three scoring categories: 1330, 1450, and 1550. The matches were dramatic, showcasing the athletes' fighting spirit.
The tournament not only honored outstanding players but also left a lasting impression of noble sportsmanship intertwined with meaningful charitable activities. This year, before the official start of the tournament, the organizing committee and athletes visited and donated gifts to the SOS Children's Village in Vinh on International Children's Day, June 1st.
After two days of intense competition, the organizing committee awarded medals, trophies, and prize money to the teams that won first, second, and third place in all three competition categories, as well as to the pairs who won the style award. Accordingly, the first-place team in the 1550 category was Gia Bao and Cuong Ninh Binh; the first-place team in the 1450 category was Tai Nho and Thu HM; and the first-place team in the 1330 category was Luu HT and Nam HT.
