Nearly 200 athletes participated in the 2nd Nghe An Press Pickleball Tournament in 2026.
On the morning of May 23rd, at the Heritage sports complex in Truong Vinh ward, Nghe An province, the 2nd Nghe An Press Pickleball Tournament 2026 officially commenced. This is a practical sporting event to celebrate the 101st anniversary of Vietnam's Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2026).

Attending the Opening Ceremony were members of the Provincial Party Committee: Tran Thi My Hanh - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Tran Minh Ngoc - Director of Nghe An Newspaper and Radio and Television, Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association; Kha Van Tam - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor. Also present was Pham Ngoc Canh - Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department.

The tournament featured nearly 200 athletes from Pickleball clubs in the two provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh.
The athletes competed in three events: men's doubles, women's doubles, and men's doubles for leaders. Specifically, the men's doubles event had 25 pairs of athletes, the women's doubles event had 19 pairs, and nearly 20 pairs of athletes competed in the men's doubles for leaders event.

During the opening ceremony, the Organizing Committee and the main sponsor, Hoang Gia Phat Group, presented two charitable houses to two disadvantaged families in Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces; and also provided livelihood support to 50 needy families in the two provinces.


The Nghe An Press Pickleball Tournament, organized by the Nghe An Press Club, aims to create a healthy playground for the pickleball community, fostering interaction and connection between agencies in the fields of journalism and media with businesses and partners.

Participating in the tournament also provides an opportunity for athletes to interact, learn from each other, expand friendships, improve health, gain more motivation for work, and strengthen community bonds.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the athletes in the men's and women's doubles events began competing in the qualifying rounds.
Tomorrow (May 24th), the athletes in the men's doubles leadership category will begin competing. The closing ceremony and awards presentation will take place tomorrow afternoon, also at the Heritage sports complex in Truong Vinh ward, Nghe An province.
