Nghe An province earns over 6,000 billion VND from tourism.

(Baonghean.vn) - In 2017, the total number of tourists visiting the province was estimated at 5.96 million; total revenue from tourism activities was estimated at 6,086 billion VND.

Nghe An recognizes 7 local tourist destinations.

2017 was considered a year of significant progress for tourism in Nghe An. Statistics from the Department of Tourism show that in 2017, Nghe An welcomed approximately 5.96 million visitors; of which over 3.85 million were overnight visitors, equivalent to 135% compared to 2016 and reaching 106.9% of the annual plan. Notably, there were 109,100 international visitors, equivalent to 142% compared to 2016.

Total revenue from tourism activities is estimated at 6,086 billion VND, of which revenue from international tourists reached nearly 13.4 million USD, equivalent to 143% compared to 2016, and revenue from tourism services is estimated at 3,092 billion VND, an increase of 38% compared to 2016 and reaching 120.8% of the annual plan.

Many new tourist destinations and attractions consistently draw large numbers of visitors. The Kim Lien historical site welcomed and served over 1.8 million visitors this year, a 33% increase compared to the same period in 2016, including over 6,000 international visitors; Cua Lo town welcomed 2.47 million tourists, including 1.41 million overnight visitors, achieving 143% of the plan, with total tourism revenue estimated at 2,280 billion VND, an 82.8% increase compared to the same period in 2016 and reaching 139.6% of the 2017 plan.

In addition, cultural, ecological, and spiritual tourist destinations in the province, such as: Truong Bon Historical Site, Hoang Muoi Temple, Corn Temple, Dai Tue Pagoda, Quang Trung Temple, Vietnam-Laos Martyrs Cemetery, Muong Thanh Safari Dien Lam Ecotourism Area, community tourism in Con Cuong district, Cau Cau Tea Island Ecotourism Area in Thanh Chuong... all saw a significant increase in visitor numbers compared to 2016.
