USD continues to climb
USD exchange rate/VND today (September 16) was announced by the State Bank (SBV) at 24,013 VND/USD, an increase of 18 VND compared to the listed rate of September 15.
USD exchange rate today (September 16), USD/VND exchange rate, black market USD price, VCB USD continued to climb. Meanwhile, the world USD exchange rate decreased slightly.
Currently, the USD exchange rate that commercial banks are allowed to trade is from 23,400 - 25,163 VND/USD. The selling exchange rate is also adjusted by the State Bank of Vietnam to the buying and selling range of 23,400 - 25,163 VND/USD.
Bank USD exchange rates, foreign exchange rates today and domestic USD prices this morning recorded a series of upward adjustments at banks.
Japanese Yen Continues to Slip Deeply
Today (September 16), exchange rateJapanese Yencontinued to slide deeply. At the banking system, the highest recorded exchange rate at Agribank was 162.09 VND/JPY for buying and 166.12 VND/JPY for selling, respectively - down 0.66 VND and 0.03 VND.
On the black market, the Japanese Yen/VND exchange rate increased by 2.96 VND in buying and decreased by 1.95 VND in selling, trading at 164.22 VND/JPY and 165.22 VND/JPY, respectively.
The dollar is expected to continue to strengthen, after the yen strengthened sharply earlier in the week. The dollar was last up 0.12% at 147.65 JPY/USD after hitting a 10-month high of 147.96.
There is no major reason for the Japanese yen to appreciate again at present. This is because the Japanese economy is weakening, and the Bank of Japan is likely to continue to maintain a dovish monetary policy. Recently, the number of machinery orders in Japan has decreased to a three-year low, making the economic situation continue to be unstable. Furthermore, the Bank of Japan has stated that if wages and inflation do not match their forecasts, they will not consider raising interest rates, which could further hurt the yen.
World oil levels off 10-month high
In the world market, gasoline prices today (September 16) tend to slow down after increasing to the highest level in 10 months.
On September 15, after rising to its highest level since November 2022, world oil prices turned down.
According to data from Oilprice, at 9:16 a.m. on September 15 (Vietnam time), Brent crude oil was trading at $94.3 per barrel, up $0.6, or 0.65%, from the previous session. WTI crude oil was at $90.83 per barrel, up $0.67, or 0.74%, from the previous session.
At 9:01 p.m. on September 15 (Vietnam time), Brent oil price fell to $93.25/barrel, down $0.45, or 0.48%, from the previous session. WTI oil price was at $89.92/barrel, down $0.24, or 0.27%, from the previous session.
Domestic coffee close to 70,000 VND/kg

The average coffee price in the Central Highlands provinces is 66,500 VND/kg, of which the highest purchase price in Dak Nong province is 66,900 VND/kg.
Specifically, the coffee purchase price in Gia Lai and Kon Tum provinces on September 16 was VND66,400/kg. In Dak Nong province, coffee was purchased at the highest price of VND66,900/kg.
The price of green coffee beans (coffee beans, fresh coffee beans) in Lam Dong province in districts such as Bao Loc, Di Linh, Lam Ha, coffee is purchased at 65,900 VND/kg.
Today's coffee price in Dak Lak province in Cu M'gar district is currently at 66,500 VND/kg. In Ea H'leo district, Buon Ho town is purchased at the same price of 66,600 VND/kg.
