Yen exchange rate today (September 16) continues to fall sharply.

The dollar is expected to continue to strengthen, after a strong yen rally earlier in the week. The dollar was last up 0.12% at 147.65 JPY/USD after hitting a 10-month high of 147.96.

There is no major reason for the Japanese yen to appreciate again at present. This is because the Japanese economy is weakening, and the Bank of Japan is likely to continue to maintain a dovish monetary policy. Recently, the number of machinery orders in Japan has decreased to a three-year low, making the economic situation continue to be unstable. Moreover, the Bank of Japan has stated that if the wage and inflation situation does not match their forecasts, they will not consider raising interest rates, which could further hurt the yen.
