USD exchange rate today, October 1, 2025: Free market rate rises sharply.
As of 6:00 AM on October 1st, the State Bank of Vietnam announced the central exchange rate between VND and USD at 25,187 VND, a decrease of 5 VND compared to September 29th.
With a margin of ±5%, the ceiling exchange rate is 26,446 VND/USD and the floor exchange rate is 23,927 VND/USD.
At the State Bank of Vietnam's Exchange, the USD price was listed at 23,978 VND for buying and 26,396 VND for selling.
Commercial banks made mixed adjustments, fluctuating between 2 and 15 dong per side compared to the previous closing session. Specifically, Vietcombank listed 26,176 - 26,446 VND/USD, while BIDV maintained its rate at 26,235 - 26,446 VND/USD.
Currently, the lowest buying rate in the banking market is 26,176 VND/USD, while the highest buying rate is 26,241 VND/USD. The common selling rate is 26,446 VND/USD.
Unlike the banking system, the free market this morning recorded a sharp increase of 30 dong in the USD exchange rate for both buying and selling, reaching 26,520 - 26,620 VND/USD.

On the international market, the USD Index (DXY), which measures the strength of the USD against a basket of major currencies, reached 97.94 points, a slight increase of 0.03% compared to the previous session. After two consecutive sessions of decline, the USD is still fluctuating around the 98-point mark.
Investors are currently concerned about the possibility of a US government shutdown if the October 1st deadline for passing a budget is not resolved. This scenario could disrupt the release of several key economic data points this week, putting further pressure on financial markets. The stalemate stems from President Donald Trump's failure to reach a temporary spending agreement with the opposition.
Besides political factors, the US dollar is also influenced by monetary policy expectations. The market is anticipating that the Federal Reserve (Fed) will cut interest rates by another 0.25 percentage points in October.
Pepper prices today, October 1, 2025: Sharp decline domestically.
Today's pepper prices in key growing regions have fallen sharply compared to yesterday. As a result, the average domestic pepper price is between 146,000 VND/kg and 147,000 VND/kg.
Specifically, in Gia Lai, the price of pepper today is 146,500 VND/kg, a decrease of 1,500 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Pepper prices in Ho Chi Minh City decreased by 3,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, with traders buying pepper at 147,000 VND/kg.
Meanwhile, in Lam Dong, the market price of pepper is being purchased by traders at 147,000 VND/kg, a decrease of 2,000 VND/kg compared to the previous day.
Pepper prices in Dak Lak decreased by 3000 VND/kg, recorded at 147,000 VND/kg.

On the world market, based on quotations from exporting companies and export prices in various countries, the International Pepper Association (IPC) has updated the prices of various types of pepper traded on the international market on October 1st (local time) as follows:
Specifically, the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper decreased slightly compared to yesterday, reaching US$6,979/ton (down 0.07%). Additionally, the price of Muntok white pepper also decreased slightly compared to yesterday, reaching US$9,889/ton (down 0.08%).
The price of Brazilian ASTA black pepper remained unchanged from yesterday at $6,500 per ton.
Malaysian ASTA black pepper prices remained unchanged from yesterday at US$9,600/ton. Similarly, ASTA white pepper prices also remained unchanged from yesterday at US$13,000/ton.
Prices for all types of Vietnamese pepper remain unchanged compared to yesterday. Specifically, the price of Vietnamese black pepper (500 gr/l) is 6600 USD/ton; and (550 gr/l) is 6800 USD/ton.
In addition, the price of Vietnamese white pepper remained unchanged from yesterday at 9250 USD/ton.
Coffee prices today, October 1, 2025: Turning around and slightly decreasing.
Domestic coffee prices in the Central Highlands region today, October 1st, 2025, saw a slight decrease compared to yesterday, fluctuating between 114,300 and 116,000 VND/kg.
Accordingly, traders in the former Dak Nong region are buying coffee at a maximum price of 116,000 VND/kg, a slight decrease of 700 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Similarly, the price of coffee in Dak Lak province is 116,000 VND/kg, a decrease of 500 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Coffee prices in Gia Lai province decreased by 500 VND/kg compared to yesterday and are trading at 115,800 VND/kg.
In Lam Dong province, the price of coffee decreased by 1000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, reaching 114,300 VND/kg.

On the London exchange, the online price of robusta coffee futures for November 2025 delivery reached $4262/ton, up 1.82% ($76/ton) from yesterday. The January 2026 futures contract increased 1.84% ($77/ton), reaching $4251/ton.

On the New York Stock Exchange, the price of Arabica coffee for December 2025 delivery rose 1.91% (7.1 US cents/pound) compared to yesterday, reaching 379.3 US cents/pound. The March 2026 contract increased 1.76% (6.25 US cents/pound), to 361.8 US cents/pound.

On the Brazilian exchange, the price of Arabica coffee for December 2025 delivery rose 0.57% (2.55 US cents/lb) compared to yesterday, reaching 452.3 US cents/lb. The March 2026 contract increased 0.58% (2.6 US cents/lb), reaching 447.3 US cents/lb.

Gasoline and diesel prices today, October 1, 2025: Slightly decreased due to increased supply.
On October 1st, world crude oil prices continued to fall due to expectations that OPEC+ will increase production at its upcoming meeting.
Brent crude for November delivery fell 70 cents, or 1%, to $67.27 a barrel. US WTI crude also lost 81 cents, or 1.3%, trading at $62.64 a barrel.
Earlier in the week, both types of oil plunged more than 3%, their sharpest single-day decline since August 1st.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has announced new retail fuel prices effective from 3 PM on September 25th. Specifically, they are as follows:
- The price of E5 RON92 gasoline decreased by 370 VND/liter to 19,610 VND/liter.
- The price of RON 95-III gasoline decreased by 440 VND/liter, to 20,160 VND/liter.
- Diesel fuel prices decreased slightly by 50 VND/liter, to 18,650 VND/liter.
- The price of kerosene increased by 80 VND/liter to 18,620 VND/liter.
- The price of fuel oil increased by 70 VND/kg, to 15,200 VND/kg.
During this period, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance did not allocate or utilize funds from the Price Stabilization Fund.

In Singapore, October 2025 rubber futures fell 1.67% ($2.9/tonne) from yesterday, to $170/tonne. November 2025 futures contracts fell 2.92% ($5.1/tonne), reaching $169.2/tonne.

At the opening of trading on October 1st in China, the price of October 2025 rubber futures on the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) fell 0.37% (55 yuan) to 14,475 yuan/tonne. The price of November 2025 rubber futures fell 0.54% (80 yuan) to 14,475 yuan/tonne.

At the time of this survey, the price of RSS3 on the TOCOM Commodity Exchange (Tokyo) for November 2025 delivery decreased by 4.53% (14.4 Yen/kg) compared to yesterday, to 303.1 Yen/kg. The December 2025 contract decreased by 4.47% (14.2 Yen/kg), reaching 303.1 Yen/kg.

At the time of this survey, London cocoa prices for December 2025 delivery were down 2.55% (124 GBP/tonne) compared to yesterday, at 4726 GBP/tonne. The March 2026 contract was down 2.5% (122 GBP/tonne), reaching 4744 GBP/tonne.
