Xuan Hoang June 3, 2024 08:41

Tan Ky district has identified the synchronized development of transportation infrastructure and the power grid system as two breakthroughs, creating a "lever" to drive the district's rapid and sustainable development.

Many roads have been upgraded.

In previous years, in the districtTan KyMany roads are severely degraded, affecting people's lives and the socio-economic development of the district. The most serious cases are the Huong-Phu-Hanh road; the road from Tan An to Dong Van; Road 15A, from Lat town to Nghia Dung and Nghia Hop; and several inter-communal roads further inland such as Tien Ky, Phu Son, and Tan Hop…

Given this situation, for the 2020-2025 term, Tan Ky district has identified transportation development as a top priority to promote socio-economic development for the locality.

In mid-April, under favorable weather conditions, the construction unit worked diligently to lay stones, level the ground, compact the surface, and lay asphalt on the Huong - Phu - Hanh road.

According to reporters' observations, along the entire 17-kilometer stretch, bridges and culverts have been completed, with contractors finishing each section as they go. Simultaneously with paving the road surface, drainage ditches are being constructed along both sides of the route. A representative from the contractor stated that by May 31st, nearly 10 kilometers had been paved, and with favorable weather conditions, construction progress is accelerating.

By May 31st, approximately 10 km of the Huong - Phu - Hanh road had been paved with asphalt.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha, a resident of Phu Son commune, happily stated: "Previously, the dirt road was narrow and muddy when it rained, making it unwelcome to go out. Now, the section of road passing through the commune has been paved with asphalt, making it convenient and easy for people to travel by motorbike, bicycle, etc.

Once the entire road is completed, it will only take people a few dozen minutes to get to Lat town, and children will no longer have to worry about muddy roads and floodwaters cutting them off from school as before, because permanent concrete bridges have been built across the streams and ravines. More importantly, with improved transportation, people in this disadvantaged area will have better conditions to develop their agricultural and forestry economies.

According to the Tan Ky District Project Management Board, following the Huong-Phu-Hanh arterial road, the district road connecting Tan An commune to Dong Van commune has also received provincial approval for upgrading. In early May, the District People's Committee opened the bidding process, and the project will commence soon. The road from Tan An commune to Dong Van commune is 12 km long and has an investment of over 70 billion VND.

In October, the district is expected to implement a project to renovate and upgrade the road system and infrastructure along the following routes: Lat Town to Lang Rao; Huong Son to Phu Son; and Dong Van to Thung Mon, with a total length of 18 km and a total investment of 108 billion VND, including provincial budget and a portion of local matching funds. In addition, using investment capital from the National Target Program, Tan Ky district has been concreting many village, commune, and inter-village roads in the inland communes, creating favorable conditions for people's travel and economic development.

In addition, the extended N5 road connecting Hoa Son commune (Do Luong district) to the Ho Chi Minh Highway plays a particularly important role, creating a strategic breakthrough in infrastructure to promote socio-economic development for Tan Ky district.

Once completed, the road will create a convenient transportation axis connecting the districts of Do Luong, Yen Thanh, Nghi Loc, and Vinh City. This will enable Tan Ky district to exploit its potential for developing the forest economy, construction materials, and attracting investment, thereby generating revenue for the local budget.

In addition, Tan Ky district is also implementing projects to upgrade and repair irrigation works and main canals in the fields, ensuring irrigation for thousands of hectares of rice paddies...

110kV power grid project

For a long time, the people of Tan Ky district have suffered from unreliable and unstable electricity supply due to the lack of power lines and transformer substations.110kVThis affects the district's ability to attract investment.

Therefore, when the Department of Industry and Trade decided to build a 110kV power line and substation project in the area, Tan Ky district identified this as an opportunity for Tan Ky to make new breakthroughs. The 110kV substation in Tan Ky district is built on land belonging to Ky Tan commune, bordering Lat town.

It is known that the Tan Ky 110kV power line and substation project, spanning over 26 km, has a total investment of nearly 200 billion VND. In 2020, the project was basically completed. However, due to unresolved land clearance issues in Do Luong district, the project could not be energized. The Provincial People's Committee has also paid attention and directed Do Luong district to expedite land clearance in the remaining problematic areas so that the project can continue construction this year. Soon, this 110kV power line and substation will be put into operation, bringing joy to the people of Tan Ky district after years of waiting.

"

Recognizing the crucial importance of infrastructure development as a prerequisite for promoting local socio-economic development, over the past half-term, under the decisive leadership of the District Party Committee Standing Committee, the district's departments and agencies have implemented many important projects. All resources have been used rationally, with a focus on key areas. In the coming period, the district will continue to propose and attract capital to invest in transportation development projects. In particular, with the orientation of making tourism a key driver of economic development, the district will prioritize investment in tourism infrastructure, focusing on major transportation routes to connect tours and develop diverse types of tourism...
