Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung inspected and directed the response to storm No. 3.
Inspecting the response work to storm No. 3 (storm Yagi) in coastal localities, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung requested Party committees, authorities, agencies and units to focus on leading, directing, organizing inspections, urging, and implementing drastic, timely and effective storm prevention and response work at the highest level, to ensure maximum safety for people's lives and property.
On the morning of September 6, comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, together with leaders of departments and branches inspected and directed the work.Responding to Storm No. 3(typhoon Yagi) in coastal areas.
Also participating in the delegation were leaders of the Provincial People's Committee Office; departments and branches: Agriculture and Rural Development, Planning and Investment, Transport, Industry and Trade; Provincial Military Command, Provincial Border Guard Command, Provincial Police.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung and the working delegation inspected the response to storm No. 3 at Lach Quen fishing port, Quynh Thuan commune, Quynh Luu district.
After completing the upgrade and expansion, Lach Quen fishing port will meet the needs of anchoring, avoiding and safely sheltering from storms for 500 - 700 local fishing boats.


Quynh Luu district leaders reported that implementing the telegrams of the Prime Minister and the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the district established inspection teams for natural disaster prevention and control work in communes and towns.
By the morning of September 6, 683/687 boats in the district had returned to safe shelters. Currently, 4 vessels with 23 workers are still at sea in the Nghe An - Ha Tinh area and are coming ashore. According to the district's plan, when there are strong storm winds of level 7 or 8, the local government and organizations will mobilize and request households in 9 coastal communes to evacuate to safe areas.

Inspecting the scene and listening to the report, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung requested Quynh Luu district to arrange and anchor fishermen's boats to ensure safety, prevent collisions and effectively prevent fires and explosions.
Absolutely do not let people stay on cages, aquaculture huts, and boats, to ensure maximum safety when storms directly affect and heavy rains and floods occur. In necessary cases, proactively enforce evacuation to ensure people's safety.

Proactively organize the evacuation of people from weak and unsafe houses, areas at risk of deep flooding and landslides, especially at river mouths and coastal areas. In case of evacuation, local authorities must proactively arrange and prepare enough medicine, food and drinking water for people.
Next, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung and the working delegation inspected Dien Thanh sluice gate, Dien Chau district. This is a project in the Northern Irrigation System of Nghe An.

After completing the upgrade and expansion, Dien Thanh sluice has the task of draining and reducing flooding for 15,000 hectares of low-lying areas of Yen Thanh and Dien Chau districts during the rainy season; preventing salinity and keeping fresh water during the dry season.
In this area, the Border Guard force and local authorities are coordinating to mobilize vehicle owners to move anchored boats to ensure water flow in case the sluice gate is operated to drain water or prevent rising tides.


At the scene, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung emphasized the consistent spirit of proactively preventing and responding to storm No. 3 at the highest level; absolutely not being subjective or negligent; implementing the "4 on-site" and "3 ready" plans.

Proactively organize close monitoring of forecast information, developments of storms, rains, and floods, promptly direct and deploy response work according to the "4 on-site" motto according to assigned tasks and authority, avoid being passive or surprised, to ensure safety of life and minimize property damage to people.

Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung also inspected Nghi Quang sluice and Nghi Quang storm shelter in Nghi Loc district. Currently, 310 fishing vessels, with 1,012 local workers, have returned to anchorage to avoid the storm.
After listening to the report, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated the proactive and positive spirit of the local government and functional forces in calling for and organizing ships to return to safe storm shelters.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also inspected the vulnerable area at risk of landslides in Rong hamlet, Nghi Thiet commune. In this area, there are dozens of houses of local people located at the foot of the mountain, when heavy and prolonged rain occurs, landslides may occur.

To ensure maximum safety for people's lives and property, the head of the provincial People's Committee requested Nghi Loc district, Nghi Thiet commune and organizations and unions to proactively monitor the developments of storms and rains, and proactively evacuate people to safe places when there are dangerous factors.
In case of evacuation, local authorities must proactively arrange and prepare adequate medicine, food, and drinking water for people.

In Cua Lo town, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee inspected the response to storm No. 3 at Cua Lo Port. According to the leaders of Cua Lo town, up to now, 218 boats in the area have returned to safe anchorage; people and functional forces have organized to tie boats to avoid collision and being swept away when the sea level rises. Cargo loading and unloading activities at Cua Lo Port have also been temporarily suspended.
Cua Lo town has also organized many delegations to inspect, propagate, mobilize, and guide households in coastal areas to reinforce their houses and restaurants. On the other hand, the town has also made plans to evacuate households in vulnerable areas when sea levels rise.

At the localities inspected, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung requested the Party Committees, authorities, relevant agencies and units to focus on leading, directing, organizing inspections, urging, and implementing drastic, timely and effective storm prevention and response work with the highest spirit to ensure the safety of lives, especially children and vulnerable groups, and minimize damage to property of the People and the State.
For coastal areas, the Border Guard force and local authorities should arrange for the anchoring of fishermen's boats to ensure safety, prevent collisions, and effectively prevent fires and explosions.
