A former employee of the Ukrainian Security Service believes that Ukraine's goal in landing in the Black Sea could be to provoke an attack on Russian fighter jets.

Former Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) officer Vasily Prozorov told TASS on September 12 that Ukraine's landing in the Black Sea could be a deliberate provocation aimed at attacking Russian warplanes, with the support of F-16 fighter jets.

“Of course, other possible options should not be ignored, even a specially provoked attack aimed at drawing Russian fighters into this Black Sea area and exposing them to an ambush by American F-16 fighters,” said former SBU officer Prozorov.

This once again shows that none of Ukraine's leaders cares about the lives of their subordinates, even those trained as special forces soldiers of the Ukrainian navy, Mr. Prozorov added.

Previously, on the evening of September 11, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that Kiev's attempt to seize the Russian "Crimea-2" jack-up rig in the Black Sea had been stopped.

To seize the Russian rig, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry sent an amphibious assault force of 14 ships of the US Navy Willard, along with personnel of the Ukrainian Navy Special Operations Forces. In the battle, 8 naval ships were sunk and up to 80 Ukrainian servicemen were killed.

The Russian Defense Ministry said that “Kiev's latest actions have pushed dozens ofUkrainian soldiersinto a suffocating battle and die".
