These days, villages inhabited by Catholics are filled with a joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere as they celebrate Christmas 2024. United in building a better life.

We visited Chau Nhan commune (Hung Nguyen district) a day close to Christmas and witnessed the bustling and joyful atmosphere of the My Du parish community. The hamlets and villages surrounding the parish church were decorated with Christian flags, flashing lights, nativity scenes, and other decorations, ready to welcome Christmas.

The first impression upon arriving in Chau Nhan is the transformation and flourishing of this rural area along the Lam River, with straight roads and spacious houses springing up one after another in the hamlets and villages.

Mr. Nguyen Truong Sinh – Head of the Catholic Solidarity Committee of Hung Nguyen District, and a member of the Pastoral Council of My Du Parish, said: “The parishioners in Chau Nhan mainly engage in agriculture and small-scale handicrafts such as making rice crackers, peanut candy, brewing rượu (rice wine), pressing peanut oil, and processing products from mudworms.
