In recent days, many people have learned about the heartbreaking situation of Nguyen Quang Huy, a 7th-grade student at Nam Linh Secondary School (Nam Dan district). His father passed away when Huy was young, and nearly a month ago his mother also died, leaving Huy orphaned and without support.
Understanding Huy's situation, Mr. Hoang Nguyen Trong Dung (born in 1989) - General Director of a business in Nam Dan district - has sponsored him until he turns 18, with a total amount of 31.5 million VND.

According to Mr. Hoang Nguyen Trong Dung, his compassionate heart was "nurtured" from his family tradition, as his grandparents and parents were all people who had done many good deeds, recognized by the people and the local government. His grandmother, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong, was once commended by the Provincial Party Committee as a model for "Studying and following the thoughts, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh," and his father is currently a member of the Provincial Catholic Solidarity Committee.
When he was young, Dung was taught by his grandparents and parents to do many good deeds to cultivate virtue and accumulate merit, believing that life would be more meaningful when one knew how to share with those in difficulty and distress.
Along with that, a major life event helped him realize that life requires giving to receive, and that he needs to do many good deeds to repay life's kindness. In 2021, noticing unusual health symptoms, he went to the hospital for examination, where doctors diagnosed him with end-stage kidney failure. The line between life and death was as thin as a thread; to be saved, he absolutely needed a kidney transplant.
His relatives and family were willing to donate kidneys to save his life, but all were determined to be incompatible, leaving him and his family in despair. But then, luck smiled upon him; a stranger voluntarily donated a kidney, giving him a chance to be reborn and return to a normal life. From then on, he felt deeply indebted to this act of kindness and resolved to "repay his debt to humanity."

Notably, he has sponsored 138 orphaned children, providing support ranging from 500,000 VND to 1,000,000 VND per month until they turn 18, including 4 students currently attending university or college who receive 2-3 million VND per month.

Through the Provincial Fatherland Front, Mr. Hoang Nguyen Trong Dung has helped many disadvantaged people, contributed to social welfare work, and fostered solidarity between Catholics and non-Catholics. Mr. Dung's company was recently awarded by the Provincial Catholic Solidarity Committee for its outstanding achievements in humanitarian and charitable activities in 2024.
