Oil prices today, September 22, 2025: Rising as international tensions escalate.

Oil prices rebounded amid tensions in Europe and the Middle East, but pressure from ample supply and concerns about weakening demand continue to overshadow the market.

Brent crude rose 0.67% to $67.13 a barrel, while WTI futures for October edged up 0.75% to $63.15 a barrel. The more active November WTI contract also gained 0.69% to $62.83 a barrel.

The immediate cause stems from border tensions with Poland, as Russia has repeatedly engaged in military actions near NATO airspace, forcing Warsaw and its allies to deploy fighter jets. Simultaneously, the United Nations has scheduled an emergency meeting regarding allegations of Russian violations of Estonian airspace. These events have added significant risk to European energy markets.
