The final match, held in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), saw a masterful performance from Brandon Nakashima against the young home talent Guto Miguel. The Vietnamese-born player dominated the match, securing a decisive 3-0 victory with scores of 15-14, 17-14, and 15-13.
This victory helped Nakashima conclude a memorable journey, avenging his loss to Guto in the group stage. Earlier in the semi-finals, the world number 32 also defeated star Nick Kyrgios to advance to the final.
UTS's superior financial appeal compared to ATP 250
Nakashima's prize money of $368,800 far exceeded the prize money of official tournaments held that week. This figure is more than three times the approximately $106,000 prize money that Stefanos Tsitsipas or Andrey Rublev received for winning ATP 250 tournaments.
