Trung Kien - March 14, 2020, 7:47 PM
(Baonghean.vn) – In his first start in the V.League 2020 and also SLNA's first home game, midfielder Phan Van Duc marked his return with a header goal. His goal also made the match even more exciting.
Compared to the opening match against Saigon, coach Ngo Quang Truong made a few adjustments to the starting lineup when facing B. Binh Duong at home. Accordingly, SLNA's central midfield pair, Quang Tinh and Van Lam, and Phan Van Duc were included in the starting lineup, playing as a left winger.
The match at Vinh Stadium took place on a slippery pitch with a wet ball due to the rain. As early as the 4th minute, SLNA's net nearly rattled when defender Santos almost scored an own goal from a free kick. Fortunately, goalkeeper Van Hoang was focused and made the save.
In the 7th minute, the home team SLNA responded. From a fairly open attacking situation on the right wing, Tuan Tai dribbled the ball and crossed it into the penalty area, but striker Alagie Sosseh unfortunately sent the ball over the crossbar.

In the 15th minute, the SLNA defense faced a dangerous counter-attack. After a few dribbles, Bình Dương's captain Tô Văn Vũ unleashed a shot from outside the 16-meter box. Goalkeeper Văn Hoàng was alert and punched the ball away, saving his team from danger.
After a few back-and-forth exchanges, in the 25th minute, Phan Van Duc and Quang Tinh created a dangerous situation on the left flank. Unfortunately, Phan Van Duc failed to capitalize on this combination, his shot going over the crossbar.
SLNA continuously pressed forward, with the ball constantly being sent to the flanks. In the 30th minute, from a cross by Sy Nam, striker Peter neatly controlled the ball and shot past goalkeeper Duc Cuong, but unfortunately, the SLNA foreign player was offside beforehand. Opportunities went begging for SLNA players, and the first half ended without any goals being scored.

At the start of the second half, SLNA were awarded a favorable free kick on the right wing after Peter Onyekachy's dribbling effort. From his teammate's well-placed cross, Phan Văn Đức positioned himself perfectly and headed the ball accurately past goalkeeper Đức Cường.
SLNA took a 1-0 lead, making the match incredibly exciting. Immediately after conceding, B. Binh Duong responded in the 52nd minute with a powerful free-kick from To Van Vu, forcing goalkeeper Van Hoang into a difficult save.
However, just one minute later, SLNA created a dangerous situation on the right flank, with Tuan Tai crossing the ball to Quang Tinh for a shot. Unfortunately, the slippery pitch caused his close-range attempt to go wide.

Struggling with coordinated attacking moves, Binh Duong resorted to long-range shots from outside the penalty area. In the 57th minute, To Van Vu dribbled the ball and once again unleashed a dangerous shot from the left wing, but still couldn't beat goalkeeper Van Hoang.
With nothing left to lose, Binh Duong launched a full-scale attack while SLNA defended with all their might to protect their lead. At the same time, Coach Quang Truong's players also had some relatively sharp counter-attacks.
In this match, goalkeeper Van Hoang played quite confidently in SLNA's goal. In the 63rd minute, Van Hoang once again made a courageous save, punching the ball away before Nguyen Trung Dai Duong could take a shot. In the 68th minute, To Van Vu made an accurate long pass to Nguyen Trung Dai Duong, but the naturalized player once again failed to beat Van Hoang.

With little time remaining in the match, coach Quang Trường brought Sỹ Sâm onto the field to replace Quang Tình to strengthen SLNA's midfield. At the same time, midfielder Ngọc Ánh made his first appearance in the V.League, replacing Phan Văn Đức.
SLNA had a clear counter-attacking opportunity in the 79th minute when foreign player Alaie Sosseh broke the offside trap, beating goalkeeper Duc Cuong. However, the striker decided to pass the ball instead of shooting, letting the chance slip away in disappointment.
Shortly afterwards, SLNA once again put B. Binh Duong's defense on high alert, with Sy Sam and Tuan Tai constantly bombarding the opponent's goal. And goalkeeper Duc Cuong once again played well to prevent his team from conceding any more goals.
During the three minutes of added time, SLNA's defense played with great concentration. Midfielder Cao Xuan Thang was also brought on to replace striker Ho Tuan Tai. Despite their best efforts, Binh Duong had to accept a 0-1 defeat.
With this victory, SLNA has 4 points after one draw and one win, temporarily sharing the top spot with Hai Phong FC. Four more matches will take place on March 15th.
