The greatest achievement of the 1930-1931 revolutionary movement was to affirm in practice the leadership and revolutionary leadership capacity of the working class through its vanguard political party, uniting with patriotic people of all classes capable of overthrowing the domination of imperialism and feudalism, liberating the nation, and bringing freedom and happiness to the people..
This was the first General Rehearsal of the Vietnamese revolution under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, not only raising the issue of worker-peasant alliance, the issue of land and farmers, but also affirming the Party's leadership role, the issue of political struggle combined with armed struggle, gradually creating the position and strength for our nation to achieve the victory of the August Revolution in 1945.
Assessing the great historical significance of the revolutionary movement of 1930-1931, President Ho Chi Minh wrote:“Although the French imperialists suppressed that movement in a sea of blood, the Nghe Tinh Soviet demonstrated the heroic spirit and revolutionary capacity of the Vietnamese working people. Although the movement failed, it forged the forces for the later victorious August Revolution.”.
More than 90 years have passed, but the spirit and heroism of the Nghe Tinh Soviet still illuminates the path of the Vietnamese revolution: National independence, land for the tillers, leading the country towards socialism.
Power circuit connection
The heroic fighting spirit of the Nghe Tinh Soviets was strongly promoted by the Party Committee and people of Nghe An during the revolutionary periods. Right from the years 1932 - 1935, in the face of the brutal and savage terror of the enemy, cadres, party members and patriotic people of Nghe - Tinh promoted the Soviet spirit, sought every way to protect and maintain the revolutionary movement and the leadership role of the Party, continued to overcome countless difficulties and challenges, achieved great victory in the climax of the Democratic Front 1936 - 1939; rushed up to overthrow the colonial-feudal ruling apparatus on August 21, 1945, together with the people of the whole country brought the August uprising to victory, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.
Despite the bitter defeat, the French colonialists still did not give up their ambition to invade Vietnam. Seeing clearly the strategic position of Nghe An, the French invaders landed many times from the coast into Nghe An, but were repelled by the Nghe An army and people. Responding to President Ho Chi Minh's call "rather sacrifice everything than lose the country, not become slaves", the people of Nghe An under the leadership of the Party were determined to protect and build their homeland, at the same time supporting human and material resources to the battlefield, defeating the French colonialists, creating the historic victory of Dien Bien Phu that shook the world.
During the resistance war against the US to save the country, Nghe An was both a large frontline and a rear area; it had to promote production, fight against the enemy's destructive war, protect the rear area, and ensure smooth traffic. As the homeland of the movement "singing over the sound of bombs", "all for the beloved South", Nghe An has achieved many outstanding achievements, contributing worthily to the glorious victory of the nation - the Great Spring Victory of 1975.
After the historic victory in the spring of 1975, entering the stage of building a "more dignified and beautiful" homeland after "defeating the American invaders", the two provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh merged into Nghe Tinh province. Facing the difficulties and challenges left by the war and the harsh nature, the luggage of the people of Nghe An was the strength and intelligence of new people, the cultural and revolutionary traditions of the homeland and the resilient and indomitable Soviet spirit of Nghe Tinh, not retreating in the face of all difficulties and hardships, standing side by side to reap encouraging results in the economic - cultural - social fields, contributing with the whole country to build and firmly protect the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam.

The general picture of Nghe An in the years of renovation has many improvements. The socio-economic development is relatively comprehensive, the growth rate of each year is higher than the previous year, many targets have been achieved and exceeded the Resolution of the Provincial Party Congress. The province has basically solved the food problem; agriculture has changed quite well, industry has developed; many new infrastructures of the economy have been built; science and technology have been applied and environmental protection has been protected; trade, medical services, foreign affairs have changed; culture, health, sports, job creation and implementation of social policies have made much progress. Political security, social order and safety have been basically maintained. People's lives have reduced many difficulties and gradually become stable; in which, a significant part has been improved; the appearance of Vinh city, many towns and rural areas have changed a lot.
In particular, after 11 years of implementing Resolution No. 26 of the Politburo and the Resolutions at the 19th Congress of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, term 2020-2025, Nghe An has achieved remarkable results: Nghe An is gradually moving towards becoming the center of the North Central region in terms of finance, trade, tourism, education and training, science and technology, health, culture, sports, and high-tech industry. Vinh city, together with Cua Lo town, are gradually playing the role of economic growth poles of the province; the development of the Western region has many bright spots. The Southeast Nghe An Economic Zone is becoming a key, multi-industry, multi-functional economic zone, gradually affirming its role as a driving force in attracting investment. The material, cultural and spiritual life of the people is gradually improving. The scale of the economy ranks 10th in the country.
Investment projects have contributed to shifting the economic structure, promoting socio-economic development, increasing budget revenue, creating jobs for tens of thousands of workers and improving people's lives. The movement to build new rural areas has achieved high results, being one of the bright spots of the whole country.
The material and spiritual life of the people has been gradually improved, the poverty rate has dropped sharply to 3%. Education and training continue to affirm their leading position in the country. Culture and health care have been given attention and developed, with many advances. National defense and security have been strengthened, social order and safety have been ensured. Grassroots democracy regulations have been directed and implemented well.
Along with focusing on economic development, the province has always paid attention to Party building and building a clean and strong Party organization, achieving many important results. Well implementing the Resolution of the 12th Central Committee, Session 4, in conjunction with Directive No. 05 on studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle, has contributed to building a clean and strong Party, preventing and repelling the degradation of political ideology, morality and lifestyle and manifestations of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" within the Party, and promoting the fight against corruption, bureaucracy and waste. The leadership capacity, fighting strength of grassroots Party organizations and the quality of cadres and Party members have been gradually improved.
Mass mobilization is one of the tasks that the Party Committee, government and mass organizations at all levels in Nghe An province pay special attention to. The Fatherland Front and mass organizations have gradually innovated the content and methods of operation. The quality of operations of the grassroots organization system and the rate of union members and association members have been improved. Union members and association members enthusiastically compete in patriotism, promote all resources to develop the socio-economy, help each other solve employment problems, eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, enrich themselves legitimately, unite to build a cultural life, implement democracy regulations at the grassroots level, maintain political stability and social order and safety.

Sparking innovation
However, up to now, Nghe An has not been a "fairly" province as Uncle Ho always wished. The development of Nghe An has not been commensurate with the potential and advantages of a province with a long tradition of culture and revolution, rich natural resources, abundant human resources, and hardworking, patriotic, and revolutionary people. The economic growth rate is not high. Economic restructuring is slow, per capita income is still low. The poverty rate is higher than the national average. Administrative reform has not met development requirements. The leadership capacity and fighting strength of some grassroots Party organizations, Party members and the activities of authorities at all levels, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and mass organizations are still limited. This has been a concern of generations of cadres and Party members of the province over the past many terms.
The Party Committee and people of Nghe An will promote the tradition of the Soviet homeland, unite with the spirit of innovation and creativity, and turn the will of our ancestors not to accept slavery into the aspiration to overcome poverty and backwardness today.
