Information from the DepartmentMedical Nghe An: From the beginning of 2025 to March 26, Nghe An has recorded 1,628 cases of rash fever suspected of measles. Of which, Ky Son district (764 cases), Vinh city (242 cases) and Tuong Duong district (201 cases) are the 3 localities with the highest number of cases; Quy Hop district (6 cases), Thai Hoa town (5 cases), Nghia Dan district (5 cases) and Quy Chau district (2 cases) are the 4 localities with the lowest number of cases.

Specifically, the number of suspected measles rash fever cases under 6 months old was recorded at 35 cases, accounting for 2.1%; the number of cases from 6 months to under 9 months old was recorded at 5.7%; the number of cases from 9 months to under 18 months old was recorded at 15.3%. The number of cases was highest in the age group from 18 months to under 5 years old, recorded at 642 cases, accounting for 39.4%. The number of cases in the age group from 5 to under 10 years old accounted for 28% of the total number of cases in the province.
In treating suspected measles rash fever cases, Nghe An health sector has cured 1,348 cases and is currently treating 280 cases. Of these, 13 cases have become severe and have complications; 5 cases had to be transferred to other facilities and there have been no deaths.

To prevent and combat measles, the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Health, and the People's Committee of Nghe An province have issued timely instructions. The key solution is to speed up the vaccination of measles vaccines and vaccines containing measles components.
Implementing the directive, in March 2025, Nghe An Health Department deployed 2 measles vaccination campaigns for children from 6 months to 10 years old in the whole province.

In addition, Nghe An continues to implement regular vaccination for children aged 9-12 months, with the result: 2,611/3,661 children, reaching 71.3%.

From now until March 31, 2025, Nghe An will continue to vigorously vaccinate with measles-containing vaccines in the expanded immunization program and campaign; urge units and medical stations to speed up the progress of the measles vaccination campaign in Nghe An province, ensuring timely completion by March 31, 2025, with over 95% of children from 6 months to 10 years old vaccinated with measles vaccine and measles-containing vaccines.
