86.5% of children aged 6 months to 10 years in Nghe An have been vaccinated against measles.
As of the morning of March 28th, Nghe An province had administered 42,186 doses of measles-containing vaccine to a total of 48,770 individuals, achieving a vaccination rate of 86.5%.
Information from the DepartmentMedical Nghe AnFrom the beginning of 2025 to March 26th, Nghe An province recorded 1,628 cases of measles-like rash. Of these, Ky Son district (764 cases), Vinh city (242 cases), and Tuong Duong district (201 cases) were the three localities with the highest number of cases; Quy Hop district (6 cases), Thai Hoa town (5 cases), Nghia Dan district (5 cases), and Quy Chau district (2 cases) were the four localities with the lowest number of cases.

Specifically, the number of suspected measles cases in children under 6 months old was recorded at 35, accounting for 2.1%; cases in children from 6 months to under 9 months accounted for 5.7%; and cases in children from 9 months to under 18 months accounted for 15.3%. The highest number of cases were in the age group from 18 months to under 5 years old, with 642 cases, accounting for 39.4%. Cases in the age group from 5 to under 10 years old accounted for 28% of the total number of cases in the province.
Regarding the treatment of suspected measles cases, the health sector in Nghe An province has successfully treated 1,348 cases, with 280 cases currently under treatment. Of these, 13 cases have become severe or developed complications; 5 cases required referral to higher-level hospitals, and there have been no fatalities.

To prevent and control measles outbreaks, the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Health, and the People's Committee of Nghe An province have issued timely directives. The key solution is to accelerate the vaccination against measles and other measles-containing diseases.
Following the directive, in March 2025, the Nghe An Health Department launched two measles vaccination campaigns for children aged 6 months to 10 years throughout the province.

Specifically: 10,011 out of 13,886 children aged 6-9 months have been vaccinated, reaching 72.1%; 12,645 out of 13,160 children aged 1 to 5 years have been vaccinated, reaching 96.1%; 19,350 out of 21,724 children aged 6 to 10 years have been vaccinated, reaching 89.9%... In addition, Nghe An continues to implement routine vaccination for children aged 9-12 months, with the result: 2,611 out of 3,661 children have been vaccinated, reaching a rate of 71.3%.

From now until March 31, 2025, Nghe An province will continue to vigorously implement measles-containing vaccines in the expanded immunization program and campaign; urging units and health stations to accelerate the progress of the measles vaccination campaign in Nghe An province, ensuring completion on time by March 31, 2025, with over 95% of children aged 6 months to 10 years receiving measles vaccine or measles-containing vaccine.
