Nghe An directs the implementation of measures to prevent and control measles
On March 27, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued Official Dispatch No. 2294/UBND-VX on focusing on implementing measures to prevent and control measles to departments, units and localities in the province.
To proactively control and prevent in timemeasles epidemic, to prevent the spread in the province, the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Health to continue to direct and support the People's Committees of districts, cities and towns to speed up the implementation of the vaccination campaign.VaccineMeasles prevention and control; end the campaign no later than March 31, 2025.

Urgently review and ensure sufficient human resources to support localities, especially those where measles cases are increasing, to effectively implement regular vaccination; speed up the vaccination campaign for children from 6 months to 10 years old in the area, prioritizing districts with many cases or suspected cases of measles, with appropriate vaccination methods such as mobile vaccination and home vaccination.
Ensure adequate measles vaccines and timely distribution to localities to effectively implement the Expanded Immunization Program, avoiding vaccine shortages or delays in distribution. Direct medical facilities to strictly implement the admission and treatment of patients with measles and suspected measles rash fever according to the instructions of the Ministry of Health.
The Department of Health coordinates with the Department of Finance to advise on timely and adequate funding for the measles vaccination campaign; coordinates with the Department of Education and Training to promote propaganda on measles prevention in schools.
The Department of Health plays a focal role in closely monitoring and supervising the measles epidemic situation, detecting and guiding timely isolation to prevent the disease from spreading and prolonging, for cases of the disease, zoning and thoroughly handling the outbreak. Timely advising the Provincial People's Committee to direct effective epidemic prevention and control solutions, appropriate to the epidemic situation.
The Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Education and Training to direct educational institutions to continue implementing measures to prevent and control measles according to the guidance of the health sector; to carry out good hygiene work in schools and classrooms; to closely coordinate with the health sector to guide educational institutions, especially kindergartens and nurseries, to implement measures to prevent and control epidemics, and to deploy campaigns and activities to increase vaccination at schools.
Monitor the health of children and students and immediately notify medical facilities when detecting suspected cases of measles for timely isolation and treatment, and propagate and mobilize families and parents to take their children to get vaccinated against measles according to the instructions of the health sector.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Nghe An Newspaper, Nghe An Radio and Television in coordination with the Department of Health shall promote communication work on mass media; increase the time for posting news, articles, and broadcasting, provide necessary information, and recommend measures to prevent and control measles so that people can understand.
Apply diverse forms of propaganda, suitable for the people, especially for people in remote, border and ethnic minority areas to proactively implement measures to prevent and control measles and mobilize people to take their children for full vaccination, on schedule according to the instructions of the health sector. Timely prevent and handle incorrect information about measles epidemic causing panic in the community.
The Department of Finance shall balance and promptly allocate funds according to the current state budget decentralization to be ready to meet and ensure the need to effectively organize and implement the measles vaccination campaign and disease prevention and control measures.
The Provincial People's Committee requests the People's Committees of districts, cities and towns to direct the Health Centers to organize vaccination for children on schedule, with enough doses, safely and with quality, especially to review subjects who have not been vaccinated against measles or have not been fully vaccinated to organize catch-up vaccinations and catch-up vaccinations. Ensure that all children living in the locality are fully vaccinated with basic and booster doses, achieving a vaccination rate of 95% or higher; ensure sufficient human resources, funding, materials, equipment and vaccines to speed up the vaccination progress, to be completed in March 2025.
Direct the People's Committees of communes, wards and towns, departments, branches and socio-political organizations to closely coordinate with the health sector to proactively deploy solutions to prevent and control epidemics in the area.
