Nghe An: Highlights of August 1st

Provincial leaders directly supervised flood relief efforts and visited and encouraged officials, soldiers, and the people after the historic flood; the People's Committee of Nghe An province announced adjustments to daily working hours to facilitate the handling of affairs for citizens and businesses... these are some of the highlights of the day.

August 1stComrade Nguyen Duc Trung- The Provincial Party Secretary personally visited Bac Ly, My Ly, and Nhon Mai communes to inspect and direct flood relief efforts, and to visit and encourage officials, soldiers, and the people after the historic flood. * On August 1st, the provincial delegation led byComrade Hoang Nghia Hieu- The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council led a delegation to inspect the flood damage recovery efforts in the two border communes of Na Loi and Keng Du. Accompanying him were leaders from the Provincial Party Committee Office, the Provincial People's Council Office, the Provincial Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Department of Agriculture and Environment, and the Provincial Military Command.

On the same day, a delegation from Hung Yen province visited the Kim Lien National Special Historical Site to lay wreaths.Offering incense in commemoration of President Ho Chi Minh.

* Although the floods have passed a week ago, many households in Huu Khuong commune are still affected.Still unable to return home.Fifteen houses were swept away or collapsed by the flood, and many others were severely affected, forcing residents to temporarily stay in schools.
