After the floods, many households in Huu Khuong are still unable to return home.

Although the floods subsided a week ago, many households in Huu Khuong commune are still unable to return home. Fifteen houses were swept away or collapsed by the floodwaters, and many others were severely affected, forcing residents to temporarily stay in schools.

hk (2) — According to a report from the People's Committee of Huu Khuong commune, the prolonged rain from July 21st to 23rd, 2025, caused severe damage. 104 houses in 7 villages were affected, including 15 houses swept away or collapsed by floods, and roads were damaged by landslides, with total estimated losses of nearly 14 billion VND. As of July 31st, 2025, three villages – Huoi Co, Xan, and Huoi Pung – were still inaccessible by road. To reach these villages, commune officials had to trek and climb over landslide-affected roads. hk (1) — According to Mr. Lo Van Giap, Secretary of the Party Committee of Huu Khuong commune, Huoi Pung was the village most severely affected by the floods at the end of July 2025, with 3 houses swept away or collapsed. After the floods, some households had to relocate and build makeshift shelters elsewhere. “Currently, all households in Huoi Pung wish to relocate. It is possible that they will only move to their new homes after the Lunar New Year of the Horse (2026),” said Mr. Lo Van Giap.
