Nghe An Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Duc Trung directed the overcoming of flood consequences in Bac Ly and My Ly communes.
On the morning of August 1, comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee led a working delegation of the province to directly go to Bac Ly and My Ly communes to direct the flood recovery and visit and encourage cadres, soldiers and people after the historic flood.

The historic flood caused heavy property damage to My Ly commune. The entire commune had 220 houses completely washed away, 130 houses were heavily flooded, 59 houses were partially flooded, and 27 houses were eroded. My Ly 1 Primary School, campus 1 in Xieng Tam village, My Ly 2 Primary School in Xang Tren village, and Xop Duong Kindergarten were swept away by the flood.
In addition, the My Ly Commune Police Headquarters, the Pieng Pen Kindergarten and Primary School, and the Xieng Tam Village Cultural House were buried under a thick layer of mud. The Yen Hoa suspension bridge was completely washed away. National Highway 16 through the commune was eroded and broken in many sections, with mud and soil up to 3 meters high in some places.

The flood also caused severe damage to irrigation, livestock, aquaculture, telecommunications, and industrial infrastructure in My Ly commune. In particular, the commune's health station, ranger station, protection station, gas station, etc. were swept away by water and many other offices and structures were heavily flooded and damaged.
Thanks to the proactive and decisive actions and timely evacuation of people, My Ly commune suffered no casualties. After the flood receded, the commune mobilized forces to overcome the situation, provided necessities to the people, and arranged temporary accommodation for families whose houses were swept away.

After listening to the report and inspecting the situation, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Duc Trung highly appreciated and acknowledged the proactive and drastic participation of the Party Committee, authorities, and forces in My Ly and Bac Ly communes in promptly implementing solutions to respond to and overcome the consequences of natural disasters; especially promptly evacuating people to safe places, ensuring absolute safety for people's lives, minimizing property damage.
On behalf of the provincial leaders, the Provincial Party Secretary shared the difficulties, damages and losses of the people, Party committees and authorities of My Ly and Bac Ly communes; at the same time, he hoped that the Party committees, authorities, soldiers and people would make efforts to overcome difficulties to soon overcome the consequences of floods, stabilize people's lives and restore production.

In the coming time, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Duc Trung emphasized that in the immediate future, the Party Committee, the government, and the forces together with the people must focus on overcoming the consequences of the historic flood, in which the most important task is to ensure the early stabilization of people's lives, ensuring that people have enough essential conditions for food and drinking water. Families whose houses were swept away or completely buried need to be arranged safe and stable housing, especially the elderly and children.
For isolated villages and families, the Party Committee, government and functional forces try to find the fastest way to organize timely supplies of necessities, food, medicine and drinking water for the people.

Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Duc Trung requested communes to focus on reviewing landslide and unsafe areas to have measures to arrange and evacuate people from dangerous areas to safe places. Mobilize forces to clean up the site, clean the environment, restore life, ensure environmental safety and hygiene, and prevent epidemics. Localities must also calculate plans to restore production to soon stabilize people's lives.
Localities need to continue to review and accurately assess the damage to the people and the state. On that basis, based on the urgency, arrange in order of priority to consider support and recovery. In particular, attention must be paid to households whose houses were swept away or buried, households in difficulty, important and essential works such as roads, bridges... The province will consider support and propose the Central Government to consider support.
Currently, many relief and volunteer groups are coming to support the people. The Provincial Party Secretary requested that communes guide relief groups to ensure safety; organize and distribute relief equally, reasonably, to the right people, and promptly.
