Nghe An province spends over 30 billion VND to support schools in preparing for final exams.
This is a solution implemented by Nghe An province in the context of schools in the province conducting extra classes and tutoring according to Circular 29.
On October 7th, the Provincial People's Committee signed Decision No. 3133/QD-UBND regarding the allocation and supplementary budget expenditure of over 30.6 billion VND from the education, training, and vocational training expenditure source to support extra classes and tutoring in the 2024-2025 school year.
Accordingly, Nghe An province is allocating over 16 billion VND to support the organization of review classes for the 2024-2025 high school graduation exam for 85 high schools and vocational training centers (including the Specialized High School - Vinh University and the Nghe An Sports and Physical Education Gifted High School). The highest support level is for Phan Boi Chau Specialized High School, with over 400 million VND. The remaining schools receive an average support of over 200 million VND each.
In addition, the province has allocated over 14 billion VND to support teachers participating in exam preparation courses for the 10th grade entrance exam in the 2024-2025 school year in 123 wards and communes throughout the province. Of these, Truong Vinh ward received the most support with over 400 million VND. The remaining communes received an average of over 100 million VND per ward.
Previously, starting in April 2025, the Department of Education and Training sent a document to public high schools, vocational training centers, and district, city, and town education and training departments regarding the calculation of the number of lessons and the preparation of budget estimates for extra classes for 9th and 12th grade students in the 2024-2025 school year.
The calculation process must be based on the number of review weeks, the number of review classes, the number of review lessons per class, the number of review lessons already allocated in the staffing quota, and the number of overtime teaching hours (if any).
The implementation of this content will take place starting from the second semester of the 2024-2025 academic year.Circular 29Regulations on supplementary tutoring have been implemented in all schools throughout the province. Therefore, instead of charging tuition fees for supplementary tutoring as before, schools now offer free tutoring for three groups: remedial classes for underperforming students, enrichment classes for gifted students, and exam preparation for final-year students.
According to the Department of Education and Training, in the past academic year, to prepare for the 2025 High School Graduation Exam and the 9th-grade to 10th-grade entrance exam, nearly 400 junior and senior high schools throughout the province organized free extra classes for students (accounting for 100%). Of these, 53,420 9th-grade students participated in these classes, and 38,365 12th-grade students participated in these classes.
