Thai people in Nghe An worship 'pu xua' - the root of an ancient tree
(Baonghean.vn) - Every year on the 12th of the 9th lunar month, the Thai people in Quy Chau district go up the mountain to worship the gods under the old tree. This custom is called "pu xua" to pray for peace in the village and a bountiful harvest.
Strange custom: The groom receives money from the bride's family at the wedding ceremony.
(Baonghean) - For the Thai people in Con Cuong district (Nghe An), during the wedding ceremony, the groom and bride will have to pour wine to invite relatives while kneeling to show respect. In return, they will receive money from the wedding guests. This custom has existed for many generations.

(Baonghean) - Every September of the lunar calendar, the Thai people in Chau Tien commune, Quy Chau district hold a festival called “pu xua”. The festival takes place at a large old tree in the village. On the festival day, each family in the community prepares offerings to worship the gods.
