Across the country, 1,121 people have been listed as candidates for the 14th National Assembly after the third consultative conference.
As of April 17th, central and local agencies nationwide have completed the third round of consultations, compiling lists of qualified candidates for the 14th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2016-2021 term.
Accordingly, a total of 1,121 people nationwide have been listed as candidates for the 14th National Assembly after the third consultative conference.
At the central level, the third consultative conference organized by the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front unanimously approved the preliminary list of 197 candidates for the 14th National Assembly from central agencies and organizations.

Preliminary data from 63 provinces and cities nationwide shows that after the third consultative conference, 735 people have been listed as candidates for the 14th National Assembly and 6,462 people have been listed as candidates for the Provincial People's Council.
In many localities, the proportion of National Assembly candidates from ethnic minorities is quite high, for example: Lai Chau: 8 out of 8 candidates are from ethnic minorities; Lang Son: 8 out of 8 candidates; Kon Tum: 7 out of 8 candidates; Lao Cai: 6 out of 8 candidates…
In some localities, the percentage of female candidates on the list for election to the National Assembly exceeds 50%. Examples include Vinh Phuc, Quang Ngai, and Ca Mau…
The proportion of young candidates in some localities, as discussed at the third consultative conference, was also quite high, for example: Ca Mau (63.6%), Quang Ngai (60%), Kien Giang (50%)...
According to the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of provinces and cities, the conferences to gather opinions and assess the trustworthiness of candidates for the National Assembly and People's Council were organized in a democratic, transparent manner, following the correct procedures, with the participation of a large number of voters. Delegates attending the third consultative conference discussed the matter democratically and voted to approve the official list of candidates who met all the required criteria.
Following the third consultative conference, agencies, organizations, and units in localities will organize meetings with voters for candidates to campaign, starting from the date of the official announcement of the list of candidates (April 27, 2016).
