10 richest women on Vietnam stock market

The total assets of the 10 richest women on the Vietnamese stock market are up to 20,300 billion VND. This year, a new face appeared, such as Ms. Le Thi Ngoc Diep, wife of the Chairman of FLC Group.

The 10 richest women in the Vietnamese stock market are mostly wives or relatives of the richest people on the Vietnamese stock market. They also hold leadership roles in their businesses.

The list is based on the most recent stock ownership data published on the Stock Exchanges.

Billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong's sisters

Owning assets worth thousands of billions of VND, holding the top position are 2 female entrepreneurs who are relatives of dollar billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong.

Specifically, the top position belongs to Ms. Pham Thu Huong, Mr. Vuong's wife, who holds 124.7 million VIC shares of Vingroup Corporation worth VND5,465 billion.

Ms. Huong's sister, Ms. Pham Thuy Hang, has 3,651 billion VND when holding 83.3 million VIC shares.

Currently, Ms. Huong and her sister are both Vice Presidents of Vingroup Corporation.

Businesswoman Truong Thi Le Khanh is known as the "queen of tra fish" as she is the Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Vinh Hoan Seafood Joint Stock Company, a company specializing in exporting tra fish.

The female general of Vinh Hoan is holding 45.5 million VHC shares worth VND2,529 billion. She accelerated to the position of the third richest woman on the stock market mainly thanks to VHC shares increasing in price by 90% since the beginning of 2016.

Mrs. Vu Thi Hien - wife of Hoa Phat boss

Ms. Vu Thi Hien, wife of Mr. Tran Dinh Long, Chairman of Hoa Phat Group, currently owns nearly 54 million HPG shares, equivalent to VND 2,200 billion.

Ms. Hien's assets have increased rapidly since the beginning of the year when HPG shares increased sharply thanks to impressive business results at this enterprise.

Another woman who owns a large amount of VIC shares but is quite secretive is Ms. Phan Thu Huong, 46 years old, General Director of Vietnam Investment JSC. This company is the largest institutional shareholder of Vingroup and holds nearly 13% of the capital of billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong's group.

Although owning about 29.5 million VIC shares worth VND1,296 billion, Ms. Huong is not a major shareholder of this group because her ownership ratio is only over 1%.

Ms. Le Thi Ngoc Diep - major shareholder of ROS

This year is the first time that Ms. Le Thi Ngoc Diep has joined the list of women with assets worth hundreds of billions of VND. Ms. Diep is a major shareholder of Faros Construction JSC (ROS) and is the wife of Mr. Trinh Van Quyet, Chairman of FLC Group.

From the starting price of VND10,500 when listed, ROS shares increased more than 5 times to VND59,300 at the closing price on October 19.

Currently, Ms. Diep owns 20.2 million ROS shares with a conversion value of nearly 1,200 billion VND and ranks 7th in the list of richest women on the stock exchange.

Ms. Dang Ngoc Lan - wife of Mr. Kien

Another woman with assets worth hundreds of billions of dong is Ms. Dang Ngoc Lan - Member of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Thuong Tin Commercial Bank (Vietbank). However, she is better known as the wife of Mr. Nguyen Duc Kien (Mr. Kien).

Ms. Lan currently owns 38.5 million ACB shares of Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank worth 755 billion VND.

Ms. Cao Thi Ngoc Dung - owner of PNJ

PNJ shares increased in price by 73%, causing the owner of this jewelry brand's assets to increase sharply, to 743 billion VND.

Although Vinamilk's female general only holds 4 million VNM shares, due to the sky-high market value of the shares, Ms. Lien's converted assets are 591 billion VND, ranking 10th in the list of richest women in the Vietnamese stock market.
