The list, unsurprisingly, includes several artists who earned nine figures from their catalogs last year, with Bruce Springsteen at the top. Not only did the singer sell his publishing and recording rights to Sony Music in December for a reported $550 million, but he is also a rare artist who earns a significant amount of money from live performances, with his showSpringsteen on Broadway.
Seven of the 10 musicians who made the list were based on physical and streaming sales. However, rapper Kanye West found success with his Yeezy shoe brand, and Jay Z sold his stake in a champagne line.
